I must say that the Officer in charge of my recruitment has been fantastic
Selection test - 8th of March
Interview - 16th of March
CRB Forms to be filled and success letter - 26th March
Told by the 28th of April that they never received crb forms dispatched another set of forms to be filled.
Got a verbal offer and confirmed preferred location and start date
- Monday 18th May
Got the original copy of disclosure - Tuesday 19th May
Got written confirmation of offer and time to report to location on agreed date - Wednesday 20th May
Hope that helps in terms of time frame but I think it also depends on job location and officer in charge of recruitment0 -

Delivering a Customer Focused Service (23KB)– level 1
Professional competencies

Please someone reply - thanks in advance!0 -

I was at the Holiday Inn for EO interview too - got a "success" letter two weeks ago. When I phoned up, they said it would be "a few weeks" to undertake checks, so just playing the waiting game at the moment.
This forum has been very useful, looks like a lot of us going through the same thing.
I'd applied for two AO positions in Chester and Shotton too - after interviews, I got the "waiting list" letter for one, and an "unsuccessful" for the other. So I guess I've got the full set now!
Hiya
I was on the assessment day at the Holiday Inn too, got the success letter on 6th May so im in the same boat. Ive called to find out how long it would take for the checks but haven't had any joy as yet.
Its so frustrating as I need to know when to hand my notice in!
Good luck

Hi Joebreakdown and ABC219
I had been made redundant from previous employment and finished there at the end of December. Since then i have either not been working or just temping. So, for me, there wasnt really a decision to make when I was offered the position.
I did not receive a Starter Pack and have not really received one. I had a letter by email offering me the job but that came the day before i started. That email had a tiny bit about pensions in it. After a couple of days work, I received a pack of stuff through the post about pensions. I have also been approached by the union rep and am awaiting a lot of information from the Union, by post. What are you expecting in this Starter Pack?
I am really enjoying the job actually. My role is PA dealing with New Claims at the moment. My diary gets filled up and the day goes quickly. New Claims customers are usually really nice and desperate to get back to work.
My first day was good. I was shown round. You will have to spend a bit of time working through a booklet about keeping safe. I did that in the morning and then in the afternoon I sat with one of the other EOs and watched them interview. I did sit with that person for the next couple of days really. Then he sat while I interviewed and he did the bit on the computer. After a week I was at my own desk doing 4 interviews a day. I am now up to 5 interviews a day and apparently you usually do 7 of those plus a couple of shorter ones. Its been really good!
There is a lot of e-learning and I am going to do some of that tomorrow.0 -

My interview for the South Tyne and Wear EO position was early April, received my successful waiting list letter a week later and have been waiting ever since!! I'm 25th on the waiting list, have received my CRB forms back. So weird, why are they recruiting more people if they haven't even got the successful candidates in a job yet!! Grrr...!!! No offence to you!! Are you waiting to hear whether you are successful or not? Good luck!
Does anyone know whether they only do checks if there is a vacancy for you? Or if they just run checks on all successful candidates so you are ready to go WHEN a vacancy does become available?
No offence taken the one you applied for is to work at the Jobcentre and this one is to work at Wear view house- the old benefits agency. Two jobs so two recruitments. Good luck to you to.0 -
samesamebutdifferent wrote: »Hi there, Wow, I am really surprised that they are still interviewing, as I know quite a few people on the waiting list who have not yet received a phone call about a start date !! I had my EO interview at the Marriott early April, and start work next week. I have managed to find out (for interest) that I was number 33 on the waiting list. Still no paperwork, but the HR officer has reassured me that the salary and fixed term contract are as per the advert & the official contract will be done in the Job Centre when I start. It's the first time I've ever been successful in getting a job with nothing in writing before I turn up but it seems to be that they are just so busy at the moment. For info, I also now understand that HR are simply doing the admin, the actual recruitment timeframes, and when to appoint etc etc lies entirely in the hands of the Job Centres, so I get the impression that calling the HR team to 'chase' a start date isn't really going to help anyone, unless it's a case of you wanting to know your position on the list, and whether or not all your checks are in order. Good luck to everyone on the waiting lists.
Sorry loosing plot i meant to say interviews at the Stadium last week...so tired!!!!0 -
Cheers Molli, from reading your views I'm really looking forward to working. How long was your lunch break and where did you spend that time (in the office/outside)?0
-
We have quite a large staff room.
I am meant to work 7hours 24 mins per day. I can have an hour for lunch if I want to as that is the slot allocated in my diary. But, I usually have 30 mins for lunch. I also get allocated a 15 min break in the morning and in the afternoon which are paid.
So basically, I have been working 8am til 4pm with half an hour for lunch. We now have a rota when I need to stay one day per week until 5pm. There is flexi time so the basic view is that I can work the hours I need to. As long as I have work to do, I can build up flexi too.
Of course it may be different in the jobcentre you are in.0 -
thats interesting I thought it would be the regular 9-5 pattern. I just have to wait and see how the working hours are at the jobcentre that I will be working for.0
