I know the account needs tow credits of £1K in different months, but how long should I leave the money initially in the account for each time, the full month or just a few days?0
-
Unlike some others who have posted on this thread, my account application was a breeze. I didn't have to provide any ID or go into a branch. Account has been set up for online access, and I have just initiated the first £500 transfer in. I am intending to do 2 x £500 transfers in February and 2 in March, and will leave the money in the account for a couple of days at a time before transfering it out again.
I may, to be on the safe side, transfer in (and out) a further £500 at the beginning of April, and then start to hassle for my £100.
Fingers crossed...Wishing for a thing does not make it so0 -
The t&cs are the guide, once second £1k is in, the £100 should appear0

Just wish I had been sent the T&Cs!0

Anyone heard anything ? Nothing on their website.
From the Ananova website, but around on several others after a search:
Barclays Aims For Savers
Barclays is trying to regain a customer-friendly image with new savers with the launch of a 10% savings accounts.
The bank has already banned pens on chains from its branches and re-named ATMs "holes in the wall" to make its branches more user-friendly.
The regular Saver account, available from Thursday, will pay interest of 10% gross a year as long as customers pay in between £25 and £250 a month.
People cannot touch the money in the account for the year and at the end of the period it will be automatically transferred to an instant access account or an ISA.
The drawback is the offer is only available until April 26, the holder has to have a current account with the bank and have at least £1,000 a month paid into it to qualify for the deal.
The group has also launched an instant access Easy Saver account which will pay 3% interest on sums over £1 and a Bonus Saver, which pays 3.6% on balances of £5,000.
That will rise to 4.11% on balances of £100,000, including a 1.5% annual bonus that is paid proving no withdrawals are made.
Barclays said it planned to launch a number of other products during 2006, including new current accounts and mortgages0 -
Is anybody else thinking of hanging around after the first two x £1000 months, and the payment of the £100 bonus?
If so, do you remember seeing on the Barclays site when you first applied something like 'you will not be eligible for any other special offers'? If that was one of the conditions for the £100 offer, would the high interest regular savings account be considered a special offer, or just an ordinary product?
Or have I just imagined it all.......
Edit: No need for an answer now. I've just discovered that to be permitted to open this regular saver account you need to have your salary paid in to the current account. Since I've no intention of making waves in my existing arrangements, I'll give this offer a miss and just close the account in two months.0 -

Anyone paying in their salary into to a Barclays account and operating it for anything other than short term gain would need professional help, IMHO.0 -
Hi Guys,
Call me one of the lucky on time sprinter to get the account application when (18 Jan2006) the offer was still ON and I finally for the account opened....
Today, I just called up the Barclays customer service and they said that they have received my application on 10 Feb !!!!
I keep my game fair and have transferred 1000 GBP already....wait and watch is the idea.... but I think swords would be drawn once the time would come for Braclays to pay up 100 each
Cheers,Live Life Kingsize, MONEYWISE0
