This confuses me a bit. I am a barclays customer, I have a graduate current account BUT is this a "personal" account? Do I qualify to open the account?

It's a personal account (as apposed to business, charity etc). I don't think you wil qualify I'm afraid.
  • I've just applied! I managed to get through the application although it was a little slow at times! Am gonna get the OH to apply later!

  • Links dont seem to be redirecting correctly and though the offer is still on barclays homepage its gone from the current account opening page. Seems theyve put the brakes on. Most annoying, will teach me to wait until getting into work to sort out my moneysaving :(
  • Does seem to be, the link via moneysupermarket doesn't work and the link on the Barclays homepage doesn't work either, just some offer about a 0% overdraft now.
2p off is still 2p off!
  • And now its gone from the homepage too. It was working 2 hours ago...so annoyed, i'm gonna have to find some other way to scam Barclays now! They seem to have a £50 referral offer for all you new account holders to burn them some more with ;)
  • It now says £1000 a month for 12 months not 2.

I applied on Sunday night (I saw the tip on another forum) - I received the printed application form in the post yesterday which I have sent back to them.

I really hope they honour the £1000 for 2 months T&C.

Hopefully enough people have applied that we can put pressure on Barclays to honour the deal. The next few months will be interesting...!

The offers changed though, you need to put that much in to get the 0% overdraft, they've scrapped the £100 altogether.

Received confirmation this morning in the shape of a pre-filled application form mandate along with a signature specimen sheet which must be returned to Barclays via post. On receipt of these, my new account details will be sent.

Whats interesting though is that they have changed/added/left out details on the application form sent out compared to what I entered on the online form !!!

Home phone number - changed to my old number.
Work number - which i purposely left blank due to the nature of my job has now been filled in with a number from my employers old address.
Financial questions such as other c/cards etc have been left blank.
Time at current address has been changed from 20 years to 5 ???

Wondering whether to correct all these 'errors' or return it signed as it is ?
