This confuses me a bit. I am a barclays customer, I have a graduate current account BUT is this a "personal" account? Do I qualify to open the account?

I would interpret it that yours is a personal account not a business account.

Just phoned the 0500 application helpline and was told the following: If you applied while the £100 offer was still available and received the confirmation message on screen at the end of the application process to say that they'd contact you within four working days, then provided they accept your application (presumably on the basis of your credit score), they will honour the terms and conditions of the offer, i.e. £1000 for TWO months then you'll receive the £100 28 days after the second month's deposit.

    Phew, just in time! :D

Has anyone got a copy of the original offer terms (preferably in PDF format)?

I applied as did OH a couple of days ago. OH's application form arrived yesterday accepting him for a barclays account, but I am still waiting.

I just telephoned him and told him to get down to Barclays quickly with the ID they requested. Looks like he may be lucky and get the £100.

I guess he has a much better credit score than I do.

    Hi innovate,
Here's a copy of the T&C you asked for...

£100 Online Cash Offer: Terms & conditions
    1. These terms and conditions apply to the £100 Online Cash Offer. Participation in this offer is deemed acceptance of them.
    2. This offer is only available to non-Barclays personal current account holders who open a Barclays Bank Account ('new account') online.
    3. This offer is not available to Barclays staff or members of the Barclays Group.
    4. The account must be opened within one month of fully completing the Barclays Bank Account application form online.
    5. Once the new account has been credited with £1,000 or more each month for the first two consecutive months after account opening, the new customer will be eligible to receive £100. Only one £100 will be payable to the new account opened and only one new account may be opened under the terms of this offer. The new customer's account will be credited with £100 within 28 days of the 2nd monthly payment of £1,000 or more being paid into the new account.
    6. If a new account is not opened or funded as required by the terms and conditions of this offer, the new customer will not be eligible for the £100.
    7. Except where permitted at Barclays discretion, if you take up this offer and whilst participating in this offer, you will not be eligible to participate in any other offers that Barclays makes available to its new current account customers.
    8. Barclays reserves the right to withdraw the availability of the offer at any time without notice.

  • hi,
i too applied this morning and managed to get through although i have my doubts if they will honour the possible £2,500,000 hole in their profits.

i wonder if they'll wriggle out like the experience i had with homebase regarding a TV & DVD recorder that they mistakenly advertised at a few quid. i have a feeling these big companies think they can wriggle out of anything.

Also had my online application registered this morning at about 9.40am and will be interested to see if it gets accepted. Anyone here give me an indication of how long it takes for them to reply and also whether the response literature confirms that they will reward me with £100 for taking up and on-line account?
    TIA.

I applied last night. I wonder if they won't honour the offer or maybe they'll just reject a lot of applications!
