I completed the online form and received an e-mail saying they were dealing with my request.I then received a letter saying to complete the opening of the account to take the form to a branch with 2 types of ID which I did and also deposited the £1000 over the counter.Am i correct in thinking this should be an online account so are they trying to get out of paying this £100 or do I just need to make sure I get the account accessed for online banking and then make 2 deposits of a £1000 whilst online.0

..........likewise I heard nothing following the original application and have just received my forms0 -

Computer says no.

If you are on the electoral roll and their information is not up to date, ask them to check with your local authority who will have up to date data.
Don't they want a new customer?!! We know they don't, but you could suggest this is lousy customer service and why should you be penalised because you can't provide the exact bit of paper that they want.0 -

I tried all that, Believe me, they aren't able to think outisde the narrow list of documents they have. The electoral roll doesn't enter into it.
I had no prob with a recent Cahoot Savings account -I suspect yours is also a savings account? The criteria is stricter for current accounts - - as they potentially offer credit/overdraft facilites even though i said i wasn't asking for those.

I applied online on 18 January and received a letter just yesterday from the Leicester Servicing Centre. This confirmed that account would be opened once the enclosed application form and signature mandate were returned. So perhaps the speed of processing applications depends upon your local servicing centre?0

I have also recieved letter with form to sign and return, so fingers crossed! One thing though, looking through the terms and conditions that came with the form there is no mention of the £100 bonus. Has anyone one had any confirmation they are going to honour this ?0

first £1k has been in and out of the account now, so another 30 days and try again and see how we get on0

Update on my Barclays saga...
Basically Barclays have 'lost' my application. The 0500 number cannot trace my details yet they have written to me asking to bring in ID to branch... which I did... heard nothing and up until yesterday my photcopied ID was floating around in the system and no-one knew where it was - shocking really.
Thankfully a wonderful girl at my local branch has got involved as a bit of personal crusade - actually rang me 3 times yesterday to update me on her progress! She managed to locate my ID (it had gone all the way to their head office and then back to the branch as they couldn't match it to anything!) Apparantely girl who copied it hadn't followed correct procedure to open the a/c and will be 'spoken to'!!
Problem is there is still no trace of my online application so will have to do another either over the phone or by going in again. Said about £100 offer will this be honoured? Knew nothing about it!!!! What is it with this complete lack of communication surely Barclays staff must know what their offers are even if they are online offers! Anyway said she would spk to her manager - called me back would honour £100 as a loss to the branch as online team refusing to help! She will monitor my a/c personally and ensure the £100 is credited after 2nd mth. Have got her direct number and everything so confident this will happen.Whilst this one member of staff provided me with exemplary service not impressed at all with Barclays as a whole - even the girl at branch kept saying she couldn't believe what had happened and kept apolgising as this wasn't how Barclays 'done things'??!!0
