help2save wrote:For those of you who have given up hope.............I applied as soon as the advice came out, got the "10 DAY" email on 24th and have just received the application form/signature forms in the post.
Hooray!!! :rotfl:
Yes, me too!!!!
Both myself and my OH applied the day Martin's email arrived. Her pack arrived shortly after and then we both got the 10 day email on the 24th! Her account is now up and running.
At last, my pack has arrived in the post this morning. :rotfl: As with my OH's, I now need to take ID down to our local branch (along with the welcome letter and printout of the details I entered online) and then enable online access and move some funds. This time though, I have made copies of the welcome letter/form before passing them over to the branch.0 -
My wife received a letter this morning saying that she'd missed her salary offthe application form. But she's a full time mum and doesn't have a salary... They say nothing aboutsigning the form or if she's been accept, only that she should put down her salary. Does this mean she'll still get the £100?0

I received the 10 day email back on 26th Jan. Still have heard nothing so I called them today. They said all I can do is wait as my application shows on their system. Dont know if I am paranoid but are they just stalling to avoid paying the £100 as in their terms it says;
4. The account must be opened within one month of fully completing the Barclays Bank Account application form online
Only 10 days to go ....then I cant meet the terms!0 -
My wife received her application on Saturday and I received mine this morning so there is still hope for those waiting:j0

Won't do any harm to make an appointment but for what it's worth I went into the Glasgow branch last Friday lunchtime to provide ID and it was done in 10 minutes - no queues or anything. Personal Banking is at the far back right of the branch round a corner. Looks more like an office than a branch.MFW 2015 #41 = £20,515/£20,515

Passcode received this morning, but not too impressed with the fact that the envelope hadn't even been sealed, although the actual code was still sealed inside.
My first impressions of Barclays is that security isn't a high priority what with mothers maiden name, etc being printed on the form they send in the post.Darren Guppy

Hi there,
I had a really bad experience at Barclays. I had applied for the bank account on the same day i got mail from Martin. I got the mail in the post saying that I need to go to my nearby Barclays Bank for proving my ID and resisential address with proof of address and ID. I went there today.
First of all the lady there couldnt find my details on their system as my letter didnt have any refence number.
So she started making a fresh application. But I told her abt the offer and asked whether I would still get the £100- SHE DIDNT KNOW.
SHE DIDNT KNOW ABOUT THE OFFER. SO SHE ASKED HER MANAGER WHO ALSO DIDNT KNOW ABT IT. SHE FINALLY RANG THE HEAD OFFICE, AND AFTER A LONG CHAT WITH THEM SHE TOLD ME THAT I AM NOT ELLIGIBLE AS THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS SAID THAT THE APPLICATION SHOULD HAVE BEEN COMPLETED BEFORE 19TH JAN BUT IT IS NOT COMPLETE AS MY ID AND ADDRESS PROOF WASNT VERIFIED.
I ARGUES A BIT BUT TO NO AWAIL.
So I am now thinking of writing a complaint to the head office.
Anybody knows where should I complain.
Ad also weather they are justified in refusing so, because the delay is on their end... not mine. A
DOES ANYONE HAS A COPY OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
mny thanksI wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T0 -
Sorry but Barclays are absolute fraudsters.0
