You need to transfer the money using your existing online banking from your current account into Barclays.

You can transfer the money back again using the Barclays online service.

    Hello

I applied, got accepted (I'm the take ID to the branch variety). Deposited the first £1000 on my ID visit. Because it's a bit 'too good to be true', I gave them a ring the other day. The guy said if I applied via the web page with the offer and was accepted, then the £100 is in the bag. My first deposit was on the 28th Jan so I'll make my second on the 28th Feb.
He also reminded me that I don't need to leave the £1000 in and can withdraw immediatly if I want.

The sweetest thing in all this is that I've used somone else's money: £1000 from a credit card super balance transfer.

A minor victory for the little people.

Are you saying that a manual deposit is no good?

I've just seen this from earlier so I should be OK:

"5. Once the new account has been credited with £1,000 or more each month for the first two consecutive months after account opening, the new customer will be eligible to receive £100. Only one £100 will be payable to the new account opened and only one new account may be opened under the terms of this offer. The new customer's account will be credited with £100 within 28 days of the 2nd monthly payment of £1,000 or more being paid into the new account."

I have my account now, all setup etc, it was pretty easy really. I decided to make a query about the £100 offer before I desposited my hard earned into their abysmal current account just to check they would honour the offer, here's their reply:
    Barclays wrote:

We have provided the Terms and Conditions for the Online Current Account #100 offer -

1.These terms and conditions apply to the ?#100 Online Cash Offer?. Participation in this offer is deemed acceptance of them.
2.This offer is only available to non-Barclays personal current account holders who open a Barclays Bank Account (??new account??) online.
3.This offer is not available to Barclays staff or members of the Barclays Group
4.The account must be opened within 1 month of fully completing the Barclays Bank Account application form online.
5.Once the new account has been credited with #1,000 or more each month for the first two consecutive months after account opening, the new customer will be eligible to receive #100. Only one #100 will be payable to the new account opened and only one new account may be opened under the terms of this offer. The new customer?s account will be credited with #100 within 28 days of the 2nd monthly payment of #1,000 or more being paid into the new account.
6.If a new account is not opened or funded as required by the terms and conditions of this offer, the new customer will not be eligible for the #100.
7.Except where permitted at Barclays discretion, if you take up this offer and whilst participating in this offer, you will not be eligible to participate in any other offers that Barclays makes available to its new current account customers.
8.Barclays reserves the right to withdraw the availability of the offer at any time without notice.

It would not matter if you made more than one payment of #500, as long as they addded up to #1000 (or more) each month for the first two consecutive months.

May serve to put a few people's mind to rest about not paying 1000 in one go!

    Cheers

My wife applied online before Martin's email when out and apart from the 10 day email has heard nothing. She did get a dredit search though (although my free trial with CreditExpert has now ended). I guess she should phone them up?

A manual deposit would be fine.

It depends if you are lazy and want to do it all from home! ;)

The more visits required to the bank make the £100 reward worth less.

I would much prefer 1 hours time for the £100 rather than 10 hours time.

Am i right in thinking that anyone who recieved a letter asking for additional ID to be taken into their nearest Barclays will not recieve the £100??

I filled out the online form as soon as i got the e-mail from MSE but have still got this?

Surely they have to pay out if, when you applied, they were advertising the £100 offer??
    Nice to save.
