Thanks for the reply.
Do we know what the general feeling is on this. Should we send back as is or make the changes??0 -
I have now this morning received my application pack [after the 10-day e-mail last week] to sign & send back with no requirement about ID-to-branch. (Regular readers may recall that wife was sent the appli-pack last week with no 10-day e-mail).
I disagree with mbailey's comments along the lines that "Of course they'll accept you if you apply". Previous posters have apparently disproved that and last year I got refused for a cahoot current a/c [but accepted for a savings a/c]. I think this credit scoring is largely b@ll@cks anyway because I have in the last few months been rejected [twice] for a lloydsTSB c-card but then accepted for an M&S andMore card immediately followed by an amazon.co.ukHalifax card. Presently waiting on an Abbey-on-phone application decision!Expect the worst & hope for the best...0 -
asbowen wrote:On my application form they want me to sign and send back there are a couple of differences with the details of how many VISA cards they have me down as having compared to what I entered online. The application form also has no record of a Barclaycard on it but I know I entered this online as well.
Does anybody think they are trying to catch me out
No I think they're just incompetent. I changed a few things that seemed important and sent it back, but left some more minor details that they'd got wrong. Don't forget to tick the box on the back saying "I want to open a Barclays bank account" if they haven't done it for you (they had on mine - along with the box requesting an overdraft, even though I'd said I didn't want one!).0 -
I think I'll fill-in that I've got a Barclaycard and tick the 'I wish to apply for a Barclay's Bank Account' box and send it back like that. Like you say leave a few other minor things as is.

As they managed to misspell the password on the OH's form, and I know she spelled it correctly when applying, they must be using some sort of manual intervention (ie typing the data from the web application into another document) and this is where the errors are coming in.
So much for 'on line' application then.
Had my forms yesterday, almost a week after OH who applied 10 mins after me.0 -
Heck yes they must be manually doing it.
The following things were all wrong on mine (and I KNOW I typed them correctly - I have a print out of the page!):
My surname, my salary, my other bank accounts, the number of cards, my address, whether I was transferring my salary or not and finally - my date of birth.
It was all just minor typos - but really annoying - so I corrected it and sent it back with an explanation note.

Still sitting on the application form here, put it in the paperworky stuff to do later pile (ooops) So now being later looked at it again.
Letter says
" Please find enclosed your application form and signature mandate for you to check and sign. Please return these along with any additional items requested in the pre paid envolope provided"
The application form is all filled in on front same as others have had ( with a few minor errors like work post code... hmm to correct or not? ) but its the stuff on back im not so sure about it says "all customers to complete this page" but the accompanying letter said "check and sign"
1st tick box yes i want to apply for a barclays bank account account, is that the same as current account i applying for?
Also it asking about overdraft well no to that, but after about monthly income expenditure and of partner, is this only applicable if want overdraft?

Yes.MarkR wrote:Also it asking about overdraft well no to that, but after about monthly income expenditure and of partner, is this only applicable if want overdraft?
I think so - I just wrote "NOT APPLICABLE" in big letters down that whole column and they opened my account ok..0 -

hi there all,
I recieved OHs confirmation of account open "check and sign & return" No mention of the 100 pounds. That was going to be my question, has anyone had a letter saying they are well on their way to get 100 pounds? It seems strange that they don't mention the 100 pounds. But I see a comment above saying that no-one has got a letter mentioning the 100 pounds. Is this true?
My paperwork is all correct, surprised some people have got mistakes, I thought they would have just had some computer churn them all out.
btw we specified no salary to be paid & no automatic transfer of direct debits etc so it has seemed to have worked for us despite this. Oh and we also did not ask for overdraft, and did not ask for debit card0
