I am confident that I entered all the correct Experian questions
I am not confident.
It asked about the latest balance of once of my credit card statements.
Now I know that the credit agencies are not completely up to date so I didn't know which one they were referring to.
I guessed by might have got the question wrong.
A fairly recent Experian credit report showed the balance from November 13th.
I had just had January 13th statement, so I guessed they meant December 13th, but I think it was a bad question.
How am I meant to know what details they have, when the reports are updated in arrears.0 -
I applied on Weds 18th and duly received the letter asking me to present 2 bits of ID to verify. The Branch manager was performing this function at 1 of the 2 "personel banker" desks !!
He did the necessary in the end with a bit of trouble as computer said no.
Was a bit surprised to only be offered an electron instead of debit card as have perfect credit rating (might be because current Acc. opened before had to be on credit ref. agencies) but who cares ?
Manager asked if would be interested in 3 month free trial for additions service (free will writing sounds good)
Process took about 30 mins and he said additions add on would NOT affect free £100 !0 -
I have received the letter to go into the branch.
I have been told on the phone that I won't get the £100 even though I believe that I meet all the terms and conditions (and have some proof of the date on my PC).
We might be gettting ahead of ourselves here but we might need a "test case" in the small claims court about this.
I would be happy to do this myself but I as I work full time if it comes to this then we might be looking for someone to take this up.0 -
I got a letter asking me to go into the branch and bring ID.
I won't bother if I'm not going to get the £100 so I guess it's best to call first."I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0 -

I forgot about this. It was so bad I must have blanked it out. They didn't offer it to me for free either.
Level one £5 charge per month for additional services including agreed £100 overdraft???
Level two £10 charge per month for more additional services- £250 agreed overdraft.
Level three £13 charge per month for bla bla bla. . .
I think there was legal protection, card protection, mobile phone protection & looked to be about 30 extra items in there.
If your really interested then check out the more official looking summary here.

! It might be useful if you don't already have cover but I'd check the small print and do some research for price and cover comparisons first. That's also assuming that someone is going to keep the account after the 2 months. On the other hand if it's offered free (no strings attached) for the first three months you might as well get the most out of it.0 -
just out of interest, this is the the largest thread apart from 'bank charges - illegal' for eon,s. i am guessing it is being noticed up the ranks!!Please note, we've had to remove your signature because it was sh*te!0

Be careful.
Looking at the website this is not a 3 month free trial.
You only get your money back if you aren't entirely satisfied.
It's not clear what level of justification you need to get your money back.
It's doesn't say "no quibbles" anywhere.
Just a warning.0 -
I am currently trying to find out whether what Barclays are doing is legal (with regard to people being asked to go into the branch not getting the offer).
If it's not then we can all complain, go to the ombudsman and they will get loads of bad press.
And yes, Barclays - I hope you are reading !!
You can't override people's statutory rights simply because you've messed up.
There are people here who won't let you get away with that.0 -
Well it's offical, I am SUCH a bad credit rating Barclays won't touch me.
Kinda weird reallyas I only have two credit cards, a bank account and a bit o' savings where my CTC money goes into. Although I am a bit of a tart when it comes to savings and bank accounts (usually change every 2 years or so)
Would it benefit me to have a look at my credit scoring?
I mean will this rejection count against me for future applications for credit cards? I only ask coz I want to start Stoozing (applied for and accepted for Egg card, just waiting fo rhte actual card now).
Is it just Experian and Equifax that I need to look at or are there others that I should ask too?
I assume everyone on here has looked at their credit ratings - was the £4 worth it?
TIA for any helpjust in case you need to know:

Does anyone know if you can pay the money in through a Woolwich branch as the nearest Barclays branch is Aberdeen?“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0
