Barclays won't actually see your report, experian just supply a credit score, and Barclays make a decision based on a that score (The final decision is always down to the credit supplier)0 -

I have a printout of their webpage about the offer which I took at the time of my application . So going to wait and see !0 -
So if the acceptance decision by Barclays is not down to length of time with other accounts, it's either random or there are a bunch of people on this forum with bad credit!?
Still...looking forward to my £100.0 -
Received the letter requesting me to take ID into my local barclays. Went to my local branch who said I'd have to open an account via the branch as they couldn't process the online application so I left. Emailed customer services and mentioned that I had applied when the £100 offer was still active and had been into my local branch and was told that this was not posible. This is the reply I received:
Thank you for your email.
Unfortunately you do need to take your ID& address verification in to a branch to get it certified. The #100 offer has now been withdrawn.
Please note that you can complete this type of request in the following way, by:
- visiting any Branch
- using Barclays Telephone Banking (if not registered please call 08457 555 555 ), if calling from overseas dial +44 24 7684 2100
- placing it in the post to, Barclays Bank PLC, Leicester, LE87 2BB.
The email address we have contacted you from is used for outbound emails only. Should you need to contact Barclays again please do so by visiting the Contact Us pages on either the Barclays Homepage or Barclays Online Banking site.
Yours sincerely
Internet Care Team
For and on behalf of
Barclays Bank plc
So it seems that if you were asked for ID and proceed to with the application you will be refused the £100 anyway.0 -
Like many others, i spent some time filling out the online application for this account. I received the same letter that many of you did - please bring some ID into the branch.
I did this today, and the CS lady couldn't find any details on the system. She expressed extreme surprise that Barclays had managed to send me a letter, then wipe my details from the system! She offered to go through the application in the branch, but again said that the £100 offer would not be valid.
Seems really odd that this has been dealt with so strangely?Debt free date: October 2006 :money:0 -
I filled in the application, know I got one of the experian questions slightly wrong £500/1k out on a credit limit but got through an application form yesterday and signature sample form to send back. No ID required. And also excellent timing that I had closed my 4 Barclays current accounts last October. Just the hassle of closing a new one now in a couple of months0

There seem to be 2 types of letters being sent.- Request to take ID to local branch and a copy of the application form.
- Request to take ID to local branch and no application, but asking you to apply in the branch.
We received the second one for my OH and I know a number of other people have.
This one is an interesting one as if you phone the Internet helpline they probably won't have any record of your application! We have done this and they have lodged a complaint to track down what happened! My thinking is that the Barclays Internet servers have not been able to cope with the demand and have been losing some applications!0 -
my situation briefley:-
myself and missus both applied online approx 13th jan, no equifax questions appeared at all
both asked to verify id in branch, did so and everything is now coming through the post, online membership, cheque books, etc.
now;- just called 0500 007 234, to try and get a definitive answer as to whether we qualify for £100. was told that being asked to produce id in the branch meant that the computer didn't identify us at the time of online application! something about no credit file! i find this hard to believe after now being on my fourth mortgage, credit/debit cards, several current accounts etc.
anyway, i was then told that being identified at the time of application was one of the t&c,s of the offer! WHAT!! is it me? i've just gone over the t&c,s in sooler,s thead on page 13, and i'm somewhat dubious about their claim.
they then claimed not to have the t&c,s at hand ("may have been archived")!! so therefore could not tell me which t&c specifically refers to this.
after lodging a complaint i'm expecting a call within 48 hours to try and move this along further.
i will now print out the posted version of t&c,s, but does anyone else, online now, have a screen dump of the offer that they can email to me, it may stand up better to scrutiny when i get the call. if so pm me, i would be most grateful.
is anyone else at this point? having similear experiance? what do you think they will come back with? love to have your thoughts. i think they are digging a big hole for themselves, and forsee watchdog, small claims, hopefully martins involvment if this farce keeps up!Please note, we've had to remove your signature because it was sh*te!0
