Hi, spoke to a lady on the 0500 number, to ask if my application would still be eligable for the £100 as i applied on wednesday night. She asked what time, i said approx 7.00pm.She said she has no way of knowing and i should ask the branch when i take in my I.D (i too got a letter requesting this, together with a copy of my online application). She said they have no access to information for online applications
She could'nt even give me a definate answer about when they open this morning! Am i too assume i got through to a clueless member of staff

I got the letter asking me to take proof of ID into my local branch. Problem is that as ID they want a utility bill in my name, showing proof of payment, dated within the last 3 months, and the bill has to be an original. I'm on e-billing so will they accept a printout as an original??0

Hi , this threw me too Sarah, as most of my stuff is done on-line.But i think it says it won't accept online statements(possibly credit card ones). But take what you can anyway-after all we are applying for an account on-line, so it would make sense that those things are done online by us too! Also the form looked very out of date, so i'd see what they say anyway.:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0

I am just off the phone to Barclays - apparently they have had calls for days regarding the eligability, this is what i was told:
How to tell if you are eligable for the £100 -
You are eligable - if on the cover letter in the pack you were sent states that you should return the form and signature mandate to the pre-paid envelope provided.
You are not eligable - if the coverletter states that you need to go into a branch with your details.
Best of luck,

Received this e-mail from Barclays....
'Thank you for applying for a current account with Barclays. Due to popular demand your application may take a little longer to be processed than we anticipated. I apologise for this and we will be in contact with you within 10 days to let you know the outcome of your application.
Thank you for choosing Barclays.'

That doesn't sound right. I think they'll be dealing with many unhappy people - including me - if they try to enforce that..0 -

We phoned Barclays internet application helpline tonight and the operator could not find the application in the system!
We quoted the reference number on the letter we received but the operator couldn't find anything under that reference number or under my wifes name/address! The operator did explain that the system was overloaded with lots of applications for the £100 offer!
He then went on to say that the only way forward was to raise a formal complaint which he would do and it would go on to the next level of support to be investigated.
Any one else in the same situation as us?
Yes am in exactly your situation. They opened the account (had to give all info again) in branch but raised the complaint as you said. I plan to pay in the £1000 for the next 2 months and badger them for the £100. The branch are on my side so should come out ok in the end. If not, I've not lost much.0
