Well after my first phone call where they promised to escalate it (last tuesday) i got a letter saying they'd let me know their findings by 25th of May. I felt a month was taking the mickey, so i gave them a week rang back yesterday. They tried a couple of arguments, which were easily defeated and then they caved and admitted i was entitled to the £100...24 hours later and its credited to my account!

Account will be closed shortly. The frontline complaints staff have been helpful but every other stage of this account application has been a total balls up. I'd never bank with them again or recommend anyone else to. And the Internet Banking is awful, badly designed and counter intuitive.

Wife's account finally received its £100 today! (First £1k credited 8th Feb, 2nd £1k credited 9th March). She told me she had a call from Barclays on her mobile today; she said she was too busy to talk & they said they'd put it in a letter. I thought I'd check the account (as I'd done every day, several times a day) & there, finally, was the hundred quid! Her a/c will now be switched to HSBC to receive its £25 incentive as per their letter dated March 2006! My Barclays a/c is staying open as I've opened a regular-saver-10%-account.

My advice to anyone who's still not had their £100 -- don't give up!

I had still not received my £100 after my second deposit which was on March 30th. After 30 minutes was told that it is because it has not been 28 working days so have to wait till end of next week. but they did confirm i should get it.

Ditto - no hint of apology though for the over 2 weeks delay. OH is still waiting for her money.

Had my bonus back at the end of March, but OH didn't get hers.

Waited 28 days and was told another 14. After this has expired, chased them on three consecutive days and got it paid yesterday. Apparently she wasn't on 'the list' for some reason.

At least they didn't argue about her eligibility. But they did break a number of promises to call back.

received my £100 after some telecons with Barclays - actually I only had to ring twice - the first time for about 25 mins while they checked with whoever the check with, and promised to ring back on Monday. Never did, and the second time a fortnight later (after nowt had happened) where the guy I spoke to said he would "check the spreadsheet" (as "some claims have been rejected") and call be back. He did 10 mins later to apologise and confirm £100 has been credited there and then.

I've had the same problem, waited for 28 working days after my deposit. No £100. Rang them this morning and was told that I'd have to be considered as a special case, because they don't have me opening my account until 30/01, well I applied on 18/01, and was accepted. They can special case me as much as they like, but I intend to have my £100.
