My washing machine is all gooed up. Theres black stuff in and behind the drawer.
Sometimes clothes get marked coming out of the door, where the black stuff is in the rubber seal. Any ideas on shifting this quickly? I've tried an empty wash with Soda Crystals but it did nothing...

Yes there is, my dear old Mum, God rest her soul, used to recommend it to me, it's called 'Elbow Grease'.

This is the very reason i stopped putting powder in the drawer and stopped using fabric softener. I only put the powder in the drum now and i dont have the gummed up and frankly disgusting looking washer drawer. Oh and yes, i only use Tesco Value washing powder.

I never have this problem and always put my powder in the drawer.

Do you ever do a hot wash. Because just always doing 40 degrees can mean the machine gets clogged up and gooey.

One a week or so I do a 60 degree wash for whites and the towels.

My machine is cold fill only so doing a hot wash won't clear the drawer. I often put the powder in the balls with soda crystals and some hot water inside the machine. To clear my powder drawer I boil a kettle and when the cold fill is on put in the hot water.
