From what you seem to all be saying it's a hard job getting them to do the GA, any tips on how to go about it?
Really, REALLY wanting this camera!
Mark
Product Code 9422600 -
there seems to be a few left around the london area, just have to find a pc world to transfer it for you.
I've tried 3 pc worlds, gonna try another couple today.
hope i get it as i will be going on holiday soon.0 -
Hi all, I'm after some help if poss......
I phoned my local PC world who said they had none in stock but they found one in dixons that they could get transferred - now the guy on the phone said that the price for the camera was £170 (which is obviously what has been mentioned here) but he said it did not include the extra lens (is this right?). I have checked the Dixons website and the camera is not listed. I also gave him the product code mentioned above so if he checked that then presumably the extra lens is included? Not sure whether to just go ahead and buy it!
Thanks in advance.0 -

Thanks jojo, I took your advice and went for it!
Popped down at lunch and there is one winging its way to me - hopefully will be able to pick it up in a few days so fingers crossed....... Hopefully it is the right one! Will keep you posted.....0 -
yay!!
I've got mine, went to currys in east kilbride, they had a display one, i asked the guy if he could price match it, he said no, because it was a clearance?!
Anyway, he said i could go next door to pc world and ask them to ga it over.
I ran next door, and asked a woman if they have a e410, she said, no, none in stock at all, then i asked her to ga one over from currys, she look about 20 mins to ask about it, eventually, she handed me over to another guy and asked him if he could do it..( i was worried in case someone ga'ed it from another pc world), but he phoned up for me, and he walked next door to pick it up for me!!I paid £169 and its the double zoom kit(twin lens).
Thanks to everyone for the tips posted on here, especially to the op!
Mark, did you get one?0 -
tried the pc world near moorgate station, no luck.
they said they would be selling at a loss so no GA...0 -
Well - I got the camera. Came home all excited! But there is no battery or charger in the box. So the nice man at PC World is going to pick it up for me tomorrow (fingers crossed) on his way to work - so I will go back again, 7th visit - to pick that up. Then hopefully I can start taking photographs...... What a saga!! So - check the contents before you leave the shop!!
Must say though that it is a lot of kit for the money.0 -
YES! I got one!
Many, MANY thanks to both the OP and the poster who suggested the 'GA'.
Didn't want to mention my local stores in case somebody beat me there, but went into the Skegness Currys this morning and found the only camera they had was their ex-display one, priced at £283 or something like that.
Travelled to PC World Boston, and spoke with their general manager. Fantastically helpful, was talking to me for about 10 minutes about the stock available across the country (Peterborough has about 7, I think that's a Currys store that has it all; and Kings Lynn has some in stock too).
Told him I didn't mind the ex-display one at Skeggy, and he got a staff member to telephone the store and see if it was OK to do the GA. Paid in PC World, picked up in Skegness 2hrs later! Fantastic price, fantastic bit of kit too!
Just for those wondering, GA stands for 'Goods Advice' (read it off the screen at Skegness)0 -
yay.....glad you got one too!!
Fantastic camera isn't it?!!:j0
