Hooray, Hooray, Hooray - I now have the camera and the battery and the cable. Everything I need, now I just need to learn how to use it!
Thank you to everyone who posted their advice. Tenacity and politeness pays.0 -
The DVD that comes with camera is actually quite helpful.
it teaches about camera functions and how to get the best out of your pictures.0 -
Just been outside taking photos of the moon, etc...braveing -4C temperatures (and i'm unwell!)

Ikea sell a small bag - they describe it as a handbag (it's found in their Family range) - £7.50ish - it's ideal for the for the camera and 2 lens also space for the charger, cables and some memory cards etc ....
Finished in Black nylon, fabric. Some packing foam cut to shape keeps everything safe/protected.
PS - Camera is great, going to get some additional BLS1 batteries from Ebay to make sure I don't run out !!
PPS - Anyone looking at memory cards and wants to us the Panaromic feature will have to use the Olympus XD cards, for some reason CF don't seam to support this feature ....0 -

15-75m? WOW! That'd be an awesome lens!
Note that the sensor is x2 to 35mm film, so the 35mm equivalent for these lenses is 28-84mm and 80-300mm - quite a zoom.
Not entirely sure a 75m lens would fit in any bag...0 -
woohoo i just got one today :j
for anyone not able to GA one - persist.
Today was my 8th visit to a PC world and got lucky.
You have to keep trying (even the same store but with different people or day).
The people in the Northholt PC world were so nice in comparison with the others and they did it in 10 mins max no fuss. Just sat down, rang the store and done.
So if anyone in north london wants a good pc world to go to go to northholt.
2 more cameras in west drayton (which agreed to release their stock) and in luton. Also 2 more in wembley but the manager there refused so dont bother with that store.
Theres quite a few display ones avaliable too at other stores.
In hounslow there were 6 cameras when i checked on sunday.
So lots of stock still avaliable so you just need to find the right pc world (go when not busy and ask a seniorish guy).
good luck to the rest of you trying to get one. but i'm happy now after days of searching.
6 in hounslow? What pc world is that?0 -

Think they mean that it's either a Currys or Dixons that has it in stock in Hounslow!0 -

Is that right?
The DSG group used to sell an "SE" version of this kit with a 17.5-45 and the older, heavier and larger 14-1500 -
