Hugs to you Tiger, i too have a pup in a flat, like Chay, my perry is a happy little fur ball.
Been following your story since you made your post on wanting to get a dog, it's been a few weeks now, how has she settled in?Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0 -
UKTigerlily wrote: »Ohh & when I had a big house, the Cat STILL didn't go in the upstairs bit, she sleeps most of the day as it is. Should I force her to walk round the whole place maybe? She goes out, I have a big park she can go in & lots of nice areas. The Dog has 3 good walks a day & will also be going to Hydrotherapy, Obedience & Flyball & Agility if possible, my bedroom/livingroom is as big as two seperate rooms but i'll make sure I put a wall in to satisfy you ok? Have you ever thought without a wall it gives the dog more room to run about?
Both are flea treated, wormed, vaccinated, insured for the year up front & chipped, fed on premium food & have plenty of exercise & stimulation & love. Should I have left Chay in a kennel then? Or maybe she'd have gone to an Owner who doesn't walk her but that'd be ok if they had three rooms downstairs like most right? (Living/dining/kitchen) wait, I have three rooms too.
And, not that I have to explain myself to you, I specifically asked for an older dog that would be ok with the size of property I live in PROVIDED it got plenty of walks. It's not like i've got a Collie, Shepherd etc here
Bathrooms & kitchens are not rooms.
If someone had a 3 rooms downstairs - Living/dining/kitchen, then they have two living rooms downstairs, but if there are three "rooms" downstairs then they must a "some" rooms upstairs, perhaps 3 beds & a bathroom. Thats a lot bigger than your one living room that also doubles as your bedroom.
That would be 5 living rooms to your one.
There is no cause for your sarcasm, which you have responded to all my posts with, thats why I suggested people in glass houses (ie maybe you aren't the fantastic animal lover you think you are with your 1 dog, 1 cat, 6 rats & yourself all living in a studio:rolleyes:
Which takes us back to the OP, why exactly do you keep arguing with & picking at my posts?
Is it wrong to suggest dog owners should be subject to tight laws?
Do you not think this is better for the dogs?
Its obvious you are very young, but I think you need to grow up a little if you are going to post & THINK about what you are saying.0 -
You said first you were saving £1,000
That is why I assumed you had a partner funding your pedigree dog.....
So lets not pretend it wasn't your first idea to get a pedigree CKCS, but thats your business (I buy pedigree cats), I'm saying why I assumed as you had a partner funding this as you are on benefits & that he would also be living in your studio flat.
Please don't attempt to turn this into a benefit bashing thread MrsE as I can see exactly where you're going with your comments here “You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

NOT AT ALL
I assumed she had a partner as she was saving £1,000 to by her dog from a KC reg breeder.
I just mentioned her partner, my point being all those animals dog, cat & 6 rats AND two adults living in a studio.
Its only when the OP was wetting herself over my saying about her husband that I said WHY I assumed she had a husband.
THATS WHY I didn't even post those quotes until she denied ever saving to buy a pedigree pup.
My point was about numbers in her accomodation NOT her bank account.0 -
umm the savings were to be to cover Vet bills & such. I'm far from young I can only wish on that one! The point being about the rooms, is most people I know with dogs don't allow them upstairs so those rooms aren't relevant. If I wasn't an animal lover please explain why my Rats have a cage for 17 & there's 6 in there? How much more room do they need? Why does the Cat or Dog need more room, they have as much as any pet.
If kitchens & bathrooms don't count, then my place is as big as most, I may not have a living & dining room but I have one room as big as two seperate & upstairs is irrelevant. I haven't denied saving to buy a pedigree please paste that. I started off saying i'd save £1,000 before getting one for Vets etc, ie being responsible.
I decided very quickly NOT to buy from a Breeder which is again being responsible. If my Pets are so badly cared for, why has the Cat qualified for the NEC show (Crufts equivalent) ? If she's so unhappy why does she show NO behavioural problems. Why doesn't she use all the rooms when I had a huge place if she needs more room? How do you know how big my room is without having been here? You have NO idea.
Studio flats advertised here are open plan things like one room nothing like mine which is basically a flat, the only difference being the wall is removed, as I said if it improves my pets health & wellbeing i'm sure a wall can be put in
And as i've said 900000000000000 x NO it's not wrong for dogs & owners to be subject to tight laws, it's BREED discrimination I have issues with NOT changing laws etc I agree the law is crap! You seem to be picking out what suits you from my thread which it's obvious you haven't read whatsoever. If YOU'RE the animal lover you think you are why have pedigrees? I don't care, it's not my business & I don't know your circumstances as you don't know mine. If you're that concerned call the RSPCA i've offered to give you my address.
Now !!!!!! end of, I know i'm a good pet owner & as my CPN said when I said about a dog, she has NO worries about me having one as she knows how fantasticly I care for my Pets. So either get the RSPCA to check up on me, call my Vet or let's get back on topic & drop it.0 -

She's doing great thanks, I updated in my thread earlier, she's gonna be busy at obedience & socialisation classes from Thursday & has the groomer Monday for a good bath & so I can see how to clip her claws! Hopefully we can get her to agility/flyball once she's ok off lead etc.0 -
OP
What is the latest on your situation? For what it is worth you seem like a very responsible and sensible person with the way you are dealing with this.
If I had a dangerous dog(It's owners have said it WILL attack your child) jumping into my backyard I wouldn't stop phoning the police landlord/council etc until they did something.
And I mean every day until they did something.
The owners have told you it will attack your child if it gets near it.
It jumps your fence.
Therefore you are in immediate danger, frankly I'm disgusted that this is allowed to continue.
I'd also report the landlord/housing association to the council.
As to the are the Rotties dangerous debate while I agree that largely the fault lies with the owner. It has to be said when was the last time you heard of a Cavalier King Charles going tropo and attacking and killing someone?
I rest my case.*Make every day Caturday*0 -

Totally agree, i'd go to the police station & refuse to move! I really hope that cop sorts it he sounded nice & positive from what the OP says. Was it today he was going to come back? Please keep us updated OP0 -
UKTigerlily wrote: »All dogs in the wrong hands can be potentially dangerous. I bet if you ask any Vet they're been bitten more by other breeds, my Groomer says her worst was a Chihuahua & the easiest a GSD. Experienced & decent owners will be able to raise a Rotti perfectly ok. And the attack on the kid by two of them happened where I live & they DIDN'T maul her, what happened wasn't at all like the papers made out
UKTigerlily wrote: »Ah what happened in the papers was they own a pub here & had two Rotts as Guard Dogs that were never let in & they wouldn't even touch, pretty bright idea Anyway they got in the pub & apparently mauled the child. What actually happened was one of the dogs picked the child up & dropped her (Didn't shake her or anything just dropped her) & she died from the injuries. But no they shouldn't have had guard dogs of any breed IMO. My Aunt had a Pub & Dobermans and would never have had kids in there.
This is why you & I have been at odds on this thread, I think this is a disgusting statement
Maybe you are immature & thats why you said whats above
BUT just take a second & READ your words
How cheap do you make that babies life sound
I'm NOT against big dogs at all, but I think people should be checked prior to owning them, so their accommodation & lifestyle mean it won't end up an unhappy rottweiler in a tiny flat that is the owners "penis extension" & is a child attack waiting to happen.
My neighbour owns three big dogs, fantastically trained (better than my cat) shes a responsible ownerAlso apart from the local population being safe, the dogs are happy0 -
I'm stating a fact nothing more or less, get a life, i'm done with your bs0
