IF, its that little word IF.
Its because of irresponsible owners we need dog controls.
IF nobody broke the law, we wouldn't need police.
IF all kids went to school we wouldn't need truant officers
IF IF IF...............
Many of those scenarios you pointed out are things we have free choice in, the OPs child does NOT have a choice whether the dog scales the fence & it savages her.
The other scenarios are accidents, IF that dog was to savage someone it wouldn't have been an accident either.
You love your dog, you are entitled to that, but not everyone does & other people are entitled to walk in public places & their own homes & gardens WITHOUT fear or hindrance from peoples dogs/animals, because SOME owners won't comply with that laws need to be there to protect people from these owners, like the other posters with the Japanese Akita she allows out to kill cats.
You keep picking on my posts......
What exactly are you arguing about??????
What is your point?????
Do you think dog owners should be free to do as they please???
Or just their dogs???
I read your post about getting your puppy, you live in one room with you, your husband & a cat & then you wanted a dog. 2 people, 2 animals in a studio (one living/bedroom), IMHO I don't think you are very responsible. I'm not against animals in flats (we don't all have gardens) but one room & a dog & a cat:rolleyes:
I really don't think that it very kind to your animals.
The fact that you were on benefits buy stressing about how you would get a KC approved quality breeder is a whole other can of worms.
Plus IF you can afford to buy a pedigree animal you can unregister yourself at the PDSA & just use a normal vet.
lmao you can't read, i'm SINGLE & living ALONE. I have a DOG not a PUPPY, NOT a pedigree a MUTT from rescue. I don't use the PDSA, not unless an extreme emergency, if you READ you'd know I looked for a Vet that accepts direct insurance claims if over £400-£500 & have enough to cover that. I have 3 rooms + hallway & the Dog is FINE here, I know alot of people with huge houses that keep their Dog/s to one or two rooms.
Also, IF you read anything you'd know i'm as against the Dog as anyone else is & want it sorting & agree the laws need changing, I don't agree on banning certain breeds. Learn to read.0 -

Tigerlilly - I am hurt - I thought we were mates, but you have never told me about this mystery husband, or your pedigree KC registered puppy which you have registered with the PDSA:rotfl:
In fact I was under the distinct impression that you were a single gal, with a rescue, brindled middle aged staffie x, having always wanted to rescue a dog, and that you had paid out for the to level of insurance, specifically so you did not have to rely on anyone else if your dog was sick!!
Either you are living a double life  (in which case please do own up) or Mrs E has rather spectacularly got the wrong end of the stick!!!0 -
Ohh & when I had a big house, the Cat STILL didn't go in the upstairs bit, she sleeps most of the day as it is. Should I force her to walk round the whole place maybe? She goes out, I have a big park she can go in & lots of nice areas. The Dog has 3 good walks a day & will also be going to Hydrotherapy, Obedience & Flyball & Agility if possible, my bedroom/livingroom is as big as two seperate rooms but i'll make sure I put a wall in to satisfy you ok? Have you ever thought without a wall it gives the dog more room to run about?
Both are flea treated, wormed, vaccinated, insured for the year up front & chipped, fed on premium food & have plenty of exercise & stimulation & love. Should I have left Chay in a kennel then? Or maybe she'd have gone to an Owner who doesn't walk her but that'd be ok if they had three rooms downstairs like most right? (Living/dining/kitchen) wait, I have three rooms too.
And, not that I have to explain myself to you, I specifically asked for an older dog that would be ok with the size of property I live in PROVIDED it got plenty of walks. It's not like i've got a Collie, Shepherd etc here0 -

:rotfl: Sorry what can I say? Does she not fit the Cav breed standard? Did I buy a dud Cav? I thought they came in Brindle & White? I'm sorry I 'forgot' to mention Hubby, he's stuffed into the miniscule cupboard you see, hardly any room here, I must've forgotten him!
I paid out £330ish on Insurance specifically because I qualify for PDSA & won't ever need to claim on it as treatment is free, very MSE huh. I suggest everyone gets Insurance if they don't pay for treatment!0 -

Sorry I got the husband wrong, I guess I assumed as you were on benefits & saving £1000 for your animal you must have a partner (do I need to copy & paste the post about the £1000? & point three which you said you would use a KC breeder??????
UKTigerlily wrote: »Ok ok, this isn't moneysaving . . YET! I've wanted a dog ever since mine ran away just before I turned 7 (Awww, violins pls!) Anyway, now i'm almost 30 & am thinking, life's too short, go for what I want BUTUKTigerlily wrote: »I live in a council rented flat, ground floor. I have been here 3yrs in December so have done the probationary period & have just e-mailed to ask their permission. I've e-mailed breeders too & will buy some books (If anyone has any good cav books cheap! Or knows where). I need to know if my accommodation is suitable for one Cavalier (If the council agree & I decide to buy one). It's just me, no kids & there never will be, no partner & there may be someday but just me right now, and one cat. I've read they're ok with cats & my cat should be alright if it is to her (And the ex & I spent 7 months with his Mum who had two dogs & she was ok). Now, I have a small bathroom, small kitchen & a bigger living/bedroom in one, no garden but a communal (Never used) grass area right outside the front door, not enclosed but large..
Thats classed as living in one room, its a studio.
UKTigerlily wrote: »I have my cat registered with the PDSA, but I won't use them unless it's an absolute emergency! I don't mean I wouldn't take her to a vet, I mean I use our own vet. To me just because i'm on benefits doesn't mean I should use free vet services also. I CHOOSE to have pets, if I can't afford them from the benefits, which we all know pay stupid amounts/too much, then I shouldn'tn have them at all...
Admiral, but why are you listed with them if you don't use them?
UKTigerlily wrote: »I think the RSPCA & such would say no due to a small place, but if they see my rats theyd know how I look after my pets, six of em in a 5ft 4 tall cage, from italy that holds 17 !!!!!! ..
You got 6 rats too???
A DOG & a PUPPY are the same animal, the different is a matter of months.
I can read0 -
You didn't read the whole thread I assume? Have you not heard of Cav rescue? Yes, my Rats have a cage that holds 17, for 6, terrible isn't it? In fact, most people with Rats have cages that hold 50 didn't you know? Yes my Cat is registered in case of emergency as I could only find Vets that wouldn't accept direct insurance claims, however now I have found one. Anyone can save up £1,000, I don't smoke/drink/go out/buy make up/run a car etc etc I was going to save BEFORE getting a Dog (I'm irresponsible remember).0

Mrs E give up digging that hole!!
Anyone who has read Tigerlilly's thread knows she is an example of what a responsible pet owner should be, so you are not helping your case here.
Personally, I would not condone buying the pedigree cats that you have chosen to, but I am not about to start trawling your threads to make an arguement.0 -
lol well, MrsE can think what she likes about how irresponsible I am, in fact she can have my address & report me to the RSPCA, i'd welcome an inspection they're all in top shape with records to prove everything, she can even call PDSA with my permission to check how often I go & call my own Vet to check that too!
Back to the original topic & sorry OP!0 -

You said first you were saving £1,000
UKTigerlily wrote: »Yeah I got some lavendar bags from a £1 shop & they're still going now lolll when I walked the ex's Mum's dogs I used anything, carrier bags from Asda, whatever (Tho now I use my own shopping bags!). I decided to put my new savings account to use as a pet account & save about £1,000first, plus a years pet insurance & also buy all it's gear first. Gonna get my mate round with her cat friendly Boxer Ollie so Podge the cat can adjust slowly lol).
That is why I assumed you had a partner funding your pedigree dog.....
UKTigerlily wrote: »I think there's only three places i'd look:UKTigerlily wrote: »
1) Breed rescue
2) Adoption centres like RSPCA, PDSA, Blue Cross
3) Kennel Club recommended breeders, or good breeders
I know it won't be from the local shop window or newspapers! And I agree, i'd insist on a home check I need to be sure they're happy with it being here & think it'll be ok with me).
So lets not pretend it wasn't your first idea to get a pedigree CKCS, but thats your business (I buy pedigree cats), I'm saying why I assumed as you had a partner funding this as you are on benefits & that he would also be living in your studio flat.0 -
