Has anyone succesfully searched for addresses using the post code? I have one with medion navigator 5 and it just doesnt seem to work. Can anyone confirm if there is an upgrade for this software to 5.1? and if so is the problem fixed with this version? I'm sure I've read somewhere about a 5.1 version but there's nothing on the medion website  .

I have managed to get the speed camera info on from the 1st post so many thanks for that. Is anyone using POI warner with Navigon 5 and if so how are they finding it? as it looks like there is alot of usefull stuff available with this software.

    Cheers,
    Mark

I have never used the medion navigator that came with the PDA so I dont know about the postcode search. I use Navigon Navigator 5 (the medion one is a cut down version of this) and it all works fine before and after the 5.1 upgrade. The 5.1 upgrade is actually for the Navigon version and not the Medion version and I think it asks for a 20 digit registration code if you use it. As far as I am aware as well. POI-Warner DOES NOT WORK with Medion Navigator 5. I use it with Navigon and its excellent.

Just another little piece of info... My brother in law has a medion branded pda and installed the navigator 5 from my PDA (I had Micromaxx). It works fine on it but he downloaded the 5.1 update from navigon and tried to install. It seemed to have went wrong because he was left with a Medion icon and a navigon icon on the start screen. The navigon icon would show errors when tried to run but if you went to the instalation folder and ran the EXE it worked fine. Even the voice commands worked and he wasnt asked for a key. This installed to his default medion installation, I have asked him to bring the PDA up so I can run a comparison to see what files were replaced and if I can duplicate it.

The only thing that appears to be still running on my unit, after I log out of Medion Navigator, is the POI Observer file, which hasn't interfered, as far as I can tell, with my switching between navigator systems. Hope it works for you. Quote: Originally Posted by -=Mr-J=- ........you can configure the MEDION Software to switch it on/off automatically when you start/stop it. yes I tried that but it still stays on after exiting medion nav 5 (thanks anyway) it turned off ok with v 4.4 But the stopping program looks like its worth a bash thanks for that too

Navigon released a new map for thier navigator 5 (although the medion supplied is a cut down version) but it says it needs activated. You could always try it and see if it works.... This is the one I am using and it has the Speed limits for all major roads in the UK now as well as a few roads that were just finished around about me a year ago
  • Thanks a lot for the link. I have downloaded and unzipped and copied. Must be doing something wrong as when I click on VirtComMgr (no option of VirtComAVMgr)there is only one tab labelled general which doesn't give the option of "source". Not sure what the baud rate is or what source I have used before starting tutorial. No option to press "raw" or "test GPS2 etc. Help!
I have windows ME on computer.

I have made this purely for the mdppc150 and mio 168, it will not work on any other units, it contains all the latest mobile, gatso and specs cameras and I will post updates when they are available.

Does anyone know if it's possible to install 2 different satnav programs at the same time?

IE Medion Navigator 5 and TOMTOM? or Medion & Navigon.

Apart from memory I can't think of any obvious reason why not but I was thinking about trying out tomtom or navigon and it would be easier not to have to re-install Medion and all my favourites should I decide to stick with it.

Medion is the same program as Navigon just with less functions so there is no need to load medion and Navigon
