Tesco Internet Saver - Accessing Online Account

For anyone having trouble with the signature verification letter, I managed to get my online account access activated without one. I sent one off, waited a week but was eager to pay money in before the then deadline in November (but wanted to double check the account was correct ). I phoned them up and they activated it for me there and then and were very helpful.:j
And I can confirm you don't need the Tesco card reader - I've used my Natwest one successfully.0 -
I never received the second half of my customer number by post, which meant I had the first half (my birthday), and the step after (the registration PIN), but not that bit in the middle.
dito.same here. i thought i was going mad thinking to myself what customer number. i had to ring them up and when they gave me it it didnt work anyway so iam having to go through the sign up process again0 -
Luckily for me having had a Clubcard Plus account which I had activated for internet banking, my internet saver did not cause much hassle. Though have not yet recd my card reader from tesco thanks to one of the posters here tried my nationwide one and it worked!!!.
Still fighting for online access for OH. applied for online banking, sent the signed letter then recd the registration code and other details but would not let OH online sayingthey have not yet recd the letter. Still waiting for OH's Card and PIN number as yet.....
Icing on the cake the CS would not even let her know what her balance was -- stating your account is locked at the moment so we cannot acces any information until we receive the signed letter.
Had a go at a senior including threatening to close all accounts with them, who then kindly called back in 2 hours to let OH know the balance as we had transferred quite a bit to get in before the 31st Dec 08 deadline. btw account was applied for much before 12th Nov 08 deadline!!!!..
So much for tesco finance service!!....:beer::beer:0 -

Mine took 36 days but that was a few months ago. Doesn't seem like they've improved much since. However, I'm glad I was patient as I'm very happy with the account, good interest rate and faster payments too.0 -
ok bro, thanks for the response. I agree good interest rate, but a long winded way to open with tesco, I hope they dont take 36 days with me, I need to get some money outMine took 36 days but that was a few months ago. If you're desperate to get money out they will do telephone banking. They offered it to me but I did say to them if I'd wanted a telephone account I would have gone elsewhere to get one (but that was just me being awkward after being fobbed off and passed from pillar to post).
Have to say that mine came because I rang (again) to complain how long it was taking. I fortunately got through to a very nice young lady who was very sympathetic and helpful (after I told her that my house deposit had been stuck in the account and I'd had to find the money elsewhere) and she checked, whilst I was on the phone, to see if there was one in stock. She said there was and offered to send it Royal Mail Special Delivery so I would get it next day rather than normal post. And she was as good as her word. I don't know how much longer I would have waited if I hadn't chased it up then.
You could maybe ring them up once the 15 days are up and ask if they have them in stock. I think the key is to talk nicely rather than rant, not saying that you would, but I always find people respond better and are more willing to help if you're calm and reasonable.
Hope you get one soon and decide to stick with the account.0 -

I'm now having to go through the process a second time.
The first customer number they gave me didn't work, but I managed to log in by entering my date of birth and characters from my security number and password, at which point the customer number they had already given me, and with which I had tried, unsuccessfully, to log in, was displayed on screen, presumably so I could "get it right next time".
I tried logging in with the customer number again a few days later, and that attempt failed too. Unfortunately, after entering my date of birth I was asked to enter characters 7, 8 and 9 from my password. Guess what? My password has fewer than 9 characters.
