Spoke to customer services on how too take cash out without card reader which i ordered 1 month ago.She "SAID" she can do it until my card reader arrives. The amount she said you can transfer per day is £10.000 only. It is in the terms and conditions she said, its new to me then i said as i could find no mention of this. So it will take me 10 days to transfer £95.000 even with our online internet saver acct when i do get my card reader if ever.??0

I gave up trying to open my account after 3 weeks of website errors and telephone calls. Had to write to them to get my money back, as the account was never opened online.
Far too much hassle, even with the attractive rate and after the technical problems of trying to open the account, didn't want the same hassle when trying to access money or managing the account.
Extremely unimpressed with Tesco Personal Finance over this one.

You are not the only one! I also tried to open this account with £10 but was never able to access it on line, despite numerous phone calls. After 3 weeks I told them to close the account and refund my £10. They couldn't even refund it electronically to my current account! They said they would have to send me a cheque. The cheque did eventually arrive. What a pathetic organisation!

I've had the same bad experience with Tesco Finance. I opened my account at the end of October and then transferred £5k to get the clubcard points deal. However, I still don't have internet access to my funds, nearly two months later, having filled in and returned umpteen forms and letters.
You need a Customer Number, Registration Code, Security Number *and* Password, all which are drip-fed grudgingly to you the customer via various protracted returns of post, although in my case the signature verifcation letter was never sent/never arrived, and Tesco made an error in my application which has meant the whole process now needs to be repeated.
I'm forced to just close the account like you Walt, as I've given up hope of ever accessing my funds online.
Tesco Finance customer service is terrible - ranging from patronising via surly to, with one "tecnical support" guy, actually shouting. This when I pointed out that, working in IT myself, I had never known such a convoluted registering process.
Dealing with Tesco Finance has been a stressful, frustrating, time-wasting experience - they have many lessons to learn about running an online banking system and delivering decent customer service. However, I won't be touching Tesco Finance ever again.0 -
It would be reassuring to hear of someone with a GOOD experience of opening a Tesco account

I am also having a nightmare, and am close to going back to Sainsbury's Internet Saver. The customer number you are given is your date of birth plus up to 4 other numbers on the end. When you try to login you are only allowed to enter your date of birth (DDMMYY) as your customer number and therfore the site won't recognise it and refuses to log you on.
Any ideas?0 -
I never received the second half of my customer number by post, which meant I had the first half (my birthday), and the step after (the registration PIN), but not that bit in the middle.
I ended up having to call them to find out what the second half was. And that's not to mention the debacle over the signature verification(s).
I'm almost tempted to drive up to Glasgow myself, hand them a verification letter with my signature on it, then watch them claim they haven't received it
Edit: As far as entering it on the site, there are two boxes: one is six digits, the other (underneath) is for the rest of the number. That much of the site seems to work for me, see how it goes for yourself.Debts (26.3% remaining) - CC/BARC: [strike]2058[/strike] 100.00 @0%; CC/MBNA: [strike]1877.75[/strike] 0.00; Loan/SLC: [strike]10000[/strike] 7901.84 @1.5%; Loan/Per: [strike]1500[/strike] 0.00; Loan/HX: [strike]15000[/strike] 0.00

My account has been up and running for over a year with no problems.......
.........BUT I ordered a card reader thingy weeks ago and it has still not arrived.
Why can't it be sent out the same day that it was requested?0 -
When I received a card reader for another bank, I'm sure the accompanying letter said you can use any card reader for any bank - though I've never tried it. Maybe they are interchangeable? Worth a try?0
-
Yes, according to earlier posts on this thread, you CAN use any card reader, but I would think you still need your password and internet card sending from Tesco.Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0
