I read a couple of months go that, by the end of the year, Tesco Finance would be wholly owned by Tesco PLC. I can't confirm this has happened as reported though ...
    Wins since 2009 = £17,600

    MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS

Even as a JV with RBS, TPF had it's own FSA registration.

yeah i know i was warned but heck what a load of rollocks it is trying to open up this account!

I gave up trying to open my account after 3 weeks of website errors and telephone calls. Had to write to them to get my money back, as the account was never opened online.

Far too much hassle, even with the attractive rate and after the technical problems of trying to open the account, didn't want the same hassle when trying to access money or managing the account.

Extremely unimpressed with Tesco Personal Finance over this one.

5.1% is still very competitive, particularly because other accounts still have to reflect the December BBR reduction.

... as long as we all remember to review it after a year when the 1.5% bonus disappears

Good place to have an account at the moment though.

Unless you've got money all over the place, it's not much hardship to keep an eye on the withdrawal of a bonus rate! ;)

Maybe so, but Tesco are not exactly quick at letting you know of changes in rates (as is the case with most accounts ), so wise to be mindful of a possible very drastic drop ...
