If you are dyslexic, enquire at your local Adult Education College, or Community College, or People's College, whatever it's called in your area.

There is help available with dyslexia.

I know about this problem - my eldest GD struggled all the way through school because of undiagnosed dyslexia. She's doing well now, though.

Look in the phone book for adult education courses - they'll be open again next week or early in January - and do something about your dyslexia BEFORE you think of embarking on any other courses.

    HTH

    Thank You Margaretclare,
i always needed to fight my way with this and ended up in the uni of life... but now that i want to study, you makes a lot of sence in you respond and i will do that first thing next week.

    Thank you

I’m really sorry to confuse you but believe it or not, I’m also dyslectic and normally use MS Word for the spell check (it helps…) i just thought you can see beyond my spelling…

If you really want I’ll be happy to call you and explain it all J

This is a wind up. The OP amends his story as it suits. He'll discover a wife (who he married at age twelve) and two kids shortly, and maybe £20K in the bank?
    Gone ... or have I?

What level of course are you planning to take?

I'm sorry, I try not to pick people up on their spelling and grammar, but the above is atrocious (I can't help but think intentionally so).

I could not even make sense of it all but I think the gist was that the OP was having a go at people because he did not like the answers he was given. It seems more and more like someone is playing games with us.

NO, you are wrong! and it's a shame you too see things this way.

all i can do is Apologise for my spelling and my use of grammar and thank the ones who helped me.

What a sad bunch you all are. The OP asked a question but rather than answer it everyone would rather slag him off.

If you can beat the system then go for it. Youve payed your way so far and now its payback time.
dont worry about about all the negative comments from the "workers" as they are just jealous that you might be having a better time of it than them.
Get yourself on DLA and IB then you can do what you want.

Who wants to do a !!!!! job for minimum wage when you can stay in bed till you want and go to the pub as often as you like....

Listen, thanks for the support and i do agree with the first line of your respond, but i really don’t want to spend the rest of my life in bed and in the pub.

I want to achieve as much as possible in my life and I’m willing to work as hard as takes for it, I’m NOT lazy! if I could get the benefits i would use the time and money to study

    No, I'm not.

    I said:

Depending on circumstances it is possible to get a loan for part time study - well, studying an ITT course part time, it is possible to get a loan. It is also possible to get a career development loan. Obviously it depends on your circumstances whether or not you would be entitled to a loan for part time study.

    I said:

There are also grants available if you're on certain benefits.

    This isn't wrong either.

Now, the OP may not be entitled to a loan as a part time student, but I never said he was. I was merely pointing out that it is possible to get a loan whilst studying part time, depending on circumstances.

Pipkin, as far as I'm concerned we've been talking about Student Loans and not loans in general; Student Loans are not available for part time students.
  • As a dyslexic student myself, I advise you to first off contact learn direct as you will need English and maths at GCSE c grade or equivalent to get into Uni.
Secondly, I would suggest an Access course to higher education, this is like A-level and the chances are you will need this or similar to get into uni. As you left school aged 14 I imagine you dont have A-levels or GCSES?

You can sign on while doing access and key skills as theses are done part-time. I doubt very much you will be able to jump into uni, I had to work very hard for 2 yrs to get there and once there it is not a picnic, nor a doss so please don't think its easy.

I wish you well in whatever you do, but suggests that you change your attitude because at the moment you have managed to inspire a gathering of annoyed MSE posters.
Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!

Do you think we ought to invent a collective noun for the above?:D
