Made a overpayment of £200 today and hope to make another overpayment when we return from holiday - its on a count down - 10 days to go.

Hubbie was working on saturday so he had monday as a day off and we went for a trip to sunny Largs where the weather was lovely and we had a great time with our picnic, park and of course a bit of shopping.

Well back from our holidays and it was good - managed to get reasonable weather and no raining on our day trips out. Back to normal on Thursday and friday as back to work and very busy at school.

Surrendered an old endowment I had and fairly chuff with what I received so will use some money to convert our front cupboard to a downstairs toilet in the next few months hopefully, pay £4k off towards the mortgage as well as the allocated £200 each month - we will see how much I can do before the end of the year otherwise will continue to overpay without penalty until I have used all the allocated money. Its better going towards this rather than sitting in a bank account and it was orignially set up to pay off my 1st flat I bought myself.

Visited specialist yesterday to find out that he wants to refer me to a top kidney specialist and do more investigations on why I have so many stones in both kidneys as he believes it will be reoccuring problem and then we can treat this - just want it sorted so that I can get off the tablets.

Garden nearly finished and looking good. Trees being trimmed back tomorrow and need to find out if shed is ready to be erected.

Garden is nearing the end so will be paying them soon for this - it is all allocated of course, also the shed is due to be made and erected next week w/c 30th August. Then we need to try to prepare the back terraced bit with soil etc for the winter and we can plant up next year.

Made overpayment today of £300 & £200 which makes the total overpayment for August is £700. I am overpaying part 1 by the full amount allowed and part 2 by a little bit (part 2 we cannot claim back the overpayments).

Trying to overpay as much as able to especially with my wee windfall so that we have a reasonable amount when we remortgage summer 2012 - if the tv is anything to go by they think it will be up to 8% - time will tell

Will try to upload a picture of the garden when finished hopefully in the next few weeks after the hut is erected but no plants will be in yet as these will be done next year. It certainly brings your eye to the front garden not being as nice but this will have to wait as there are other things to do first before tackling this.

Well its the end of July and cannot believe this - time is certainly going fast

    1st July mortgage £115322.37/daily interest £13.57/monthly
    1st Aug mortgage £113872.36/daily interest £13.43
    31st Aug mortgage £112801.16/daily interest £13.30

Managed to overpay £700 this month as taking a bit of money out of savings towards this as it was allocated from the old endownment policy.

Garden only just finished by contractors yesterday so they go paid, hut hopefully being delivered tomorrow and then need to sort out delivery of topsoil for terraced flower area.

Went to local flower show on saturday - hubbie put in baking and got several certificates for this but did not win the cup this year. I tried a few new receipes but disaster. Daughter put in a pineapple man and did a drawing for under 5's - she got a 1st Certificate so its her 1st proper certificate - bless and most important a £1 winning money - its good fun and happens every year.

Made an overpayment today of £300 to part 1 of our mortgage and £250 to part 2 of our mortgage. Managed to save up the £50 from the £1 tin. Scheduled make another overpayment later in the month.

Garden nearly there as shed is now up and painted. Just need to order some topsoil for the terraced area and then we can plant some shrubs this year or maybe next year.

We are child free tonight and heading out for dinner at a nice local italian restaurant. Best go and get ready now.

Garden to a certain degree - need to order the topsoil but everytime I go to order it pouring of rain and it will be sitting out on the pavement until we can take round to the back. Will need to sort this soon in October so that we can plant a few bulbs we have bought.

We have had a toilet and corner wash-hand basin put in downstairs in a cupboard. Just waiting for handle to be put on, new stud wall and then paint and flooring. Hopefully we can start to use some time this week when we get the handle on.

We have ordered DD bike and helmet for christmas and have a few bits and pieces for her stocking but only got a bit of budget left as well as what I have on my nectar card to spend in argos. Had an idea what to get but she does not seem interested so back to the drawing board and hopefully we can get some ideas as we get nearer christmas.

We went on a day trip to Deep Sea World and it was good - DD is doing a project at nursery about the ocean and loved to see all the sharks, then we had a picnic in the car in the car park.

We are thinking of going for another day trip on a train somewhere tomorrow as dad is off work - we will see where we end up.

Need to see if I can get to nationwide for another overpayment on wednesday before work after plumber has been here.

Made another overpayment of £200 to the mortgage making the total for September £750.

Well its now the begin of October and time is flying by

    1st July mortgage £115322.37/daily interest £13.57/monthly
    1st Aug mortgage £113872.36/daily interest £13.43
    31st Aug mortgage £112801.16/daily interest £13.30
    30th Sept mortgage £111661.99/daily interest £13.14

The balance is certainly coming down quite nicely at the moment since I am using money received from an old endowment to overpay extra every month.

Hoping there will not be too much more expense for the house as I think we will have a break from this for a wee while. Just got to finish the downstairs toilet but waiting for FIL to come to do the wall and then we can get paint and sorted, but we are using it even though there is not a proper handle there.

Today loaded with a cold - not feeling too great and its our 5yr wedding anniversary. Hubbie bought a card off moonpig and they sent me a Happy Valentine's card so waiting for the money to be credited back - he ended up at tescos last night for the card.

Got most of DD christmas in and only to use money on nectar and ebay money (which was her stuff we sold) to use for a few more wee pressies.
