The back garden is open - no fence or gate (so will have to do this). we have different sections of grass, a mud patch, old drying poles and a slopes which is overgrown by bushes etc and lets not forget the old shed. It is also on diferent levels so there are a few steps everywhere.

anyway we have given the contractor an idea of what we want but since moving in I wish to change this and hopefully it will be lovely when all done and more useable.

it is ok but not great at the moment and if any money left over would love to do up the front garden but this will be autumn time or next year. One step at a time. we have just managed to get all the electrical work finished today including updating the fuse box which was anicent. The electrician spotted another point so he will be returning to fix this - may as well spend the money the now when we have it.

No doubt when the garden is being done we have the ants visiting. Rentokil guy did mentioned that a spider had crawled into a hole at the side of the house but they are all near the front door.

Made several overpayments today - £400 to part 1 of the mortgage and £90 to part 2 of the mortgage. At least there has been a payment towards the mortgage this month as we have to pay about £1200 next month (the 1st big payment) and it will revert to normal increased payments of £779.

Hopefully will continue to overpay and use up the money I have set aside for this.

We going to begin decorating our bedroom this weekend when DD is away at nanas. Had several quotes for built in wardrobes - 2 really expensive but liked the quote given tonight and we have 1 more to see tomorrow and then we can decide what to do.

Had a busy and emotional day at work today as a work colleague who is ill was retiring today and we had a drop in coffee morning in the office with lots of home baking - ate too much and brought back a doggy bag for hubbie and daughter.

Found out that one of daughter's nursery friends stays along the road from us so this will be good that there is someone who is her age nearby.

Well its the end of June - how time flies and I detail below the mortgage details so that I compare this to the future payments/debt since this has increased this month.

Mortgage is £115322.37/daily interest £13.57 for June 2010

I have only made overpayments of £585 this month and no original mortgage payment as its a big payment in July and then revert back to normal payments in August. Hoping to continue to overpay over the next few month as money was put by for this.

Also we have nearly finished decorating our bedroom, only need to find a new light to be fitted, await the wardrobes to be built later in July and new carpet and then it will be onto the next room.

Quite chuffed with the amount of work we have done and hopefully we can get the back garden done soon if hubbie manages to get a hold of the contractor to come back for a meeting and discuss and set a date for the work.

The CC is being used a bit at the moment and hopefully we can have the house decorated to our taste by the end of the year as well as the garden - we will see.

Well not been on line for a while and hopefully will be able to catch up on all the diaries since I have had a hectic 5-6days catch up with things when I am feeling a bit better and do my overapyments.

Wednesday 30th June I started to feel pain and not feel well, phoned NHS24 and was given an appointment at local hospital. Seen and advised had an infection and sent home with tablets. Thursday turned into a nightmare. In afternoon the pain came back and nothing was helping so phoned local doctors to speak to them and they eventually phoned me back at 5.10pm when I was in tears - my friend who had popped in went to collect daughter at nursery. Told to go to doctors so got there with friend and gran looked after daughter. Advised to go straight to hospital and would be kept in.

I was in hospital from thursday 6.3opm and only got out last night at 7pm. The outcome is that I have an infection and several kidney stones in both kidneys. Now recovering at home for a wee while and at least there is no pain - its worst than childbirth. I have to wait for an appointment to have them blasted out hopefully in July/August.

I am glad that the last 5 days are over and I can get through the next few months and get back to reducing my mortgage to a reasonable level that I am comfortable with.

Thanks for the get well wishes. I am getting there slowly and debating if to go back to work on wednesday. Went into town today to buy a few birthday presents needed for this month and make 2 overpayments to the mortgage of £110 & £250 = £360. Hopefully I can do another wee payment this month but got lots of expense this month - new built in wardrobes being done next week, ordered drawers for our bedroom and finally the back garden is getting done this coming 2 weekends - so big money being spent from the savings of course. Feeling a bit tired so will need to see if I am strong enough for work later in the week.

When out shopping, I managed to pick up a few bargains for the birthday presents as well as a few items for daughter's christmas stocking - quite chuffed about this.

Was out on a spending spree yesterday in Dunelm - we only went for a new teapot and ended up buying new picture for the newly decorated bedroom and new fancy clock for dining area but it does make the house look nice.

Going to a public meeting tonight to try to save a local swing park in the village which daughter uses with me and the nursery as local doctors surgery wants to use it for new premises - we will see what happens there.

Update on the house is that our bedroom is nearly completed, wardrobes fitted on tuesday and look lovely, new carpet yesterday so all furniture back in room. Awaiting new drawers to be delivered and new light to be fitted and this is our room finished and then its a new coat of paint in the spare bedroom - got at a great reduced rate as its an old shade of colour (got 2 tins).

Garden people have let us down on 2 weekends but the boss is on holiday at the moment and he has 1 more chance otherwise we have to find another contractor to do the work.

Was away seeing a private consultant today so back next week for CT scan and then in a few weeks back to discuss the results but he seems to think that I have had these kidney stones for a while. Taking plenty of anti-flammtories and painkillers when needed as this easys the pain.

Hoping to make another overpayment tomorrrow of £295 to the mortgage.

Yesterday made 2 overpayments of £200 to part 1 and £95 to part 2 of the mortgage which gives a total of £655 overpayment for July.

Also was advised not to go into work yesterday afternoon as no electricity or phones working so managed to get to a hospital in the south side of glasgow to visit a friend.

Looking forward to going on holiday in 2 weeks time.

We have been advised that DD nursery fees to be reduced by £100 in August so going to put this towards the mortgage so its getting good use and we can always rejig the figures if needed.

Well its the end of July and cannot believe this.

    July mortgage £115322.37/daily interest £13.57/monthly
    Aug mortgage £113872.36/daily interest £13.43

We had bigger mortgage payments this month but it will be regular monthly payments for August onwards. Managed to overpay £665 this month but still spending money on the house and garden still to be done.

I really have to rebalance all the accounts since we are spending money quite quickly not sure if its just things getting a bit more expensive or just that I am buying new stuff for the house.

This month we are off on holiday for 4-5 days and will take the spending money out of the savings - not too much of a dent to be made.

I have surrendered in an old endowment policy as it was borderline on whether to keep it. So need to find a account to put some of most of the money in and pay some towards the mortgage to bring the sum down as much as possible before June 2012.
