Visited Nationwide today and signed the mortgage papers for the top up sum at a rate of 3.99% which is a great rate. So from beginning June if all goes well in the next few days we will have increased our mortgage to £115,500 (yikes - 1st time we have a mortgage over the £100K). We are porting over our original mortgage as well. Fingers crossed things progress and we can look forward to us moving.

House update - mortgage totally approved and sent to our solicitor so that they are aware of this. We have concluded missives on the sale of our house on friday - good but still a few things to look into before we conclude missives on the house we wish to buy (hope things work out, as seller of the house we wish to buy is getting annoying about certain things). I hope its all going to work out.

Managed to put £300 into an account for this months overpayment so that I can still do this in June after we move. Was not sure if I could still overpay as we are porting over our mortgage and our solicitors needs to get a balance from nationwide for this so decided to bank April, May overpayments so this can be done in June. In June we will only be paying part 1 of mortgage but will catch up with part 2 (double payment) in July as well as all the other decoration/stuff to be do when you move. I hope this is my last move as its stressful so far and we still have to move as well as remembering who to tell etc.

Starting to collect boxes and these are in the shed waiting for us to start packing since it is only 6.5 weeks away.

Made a saving on the nursery fees from next month so hopefully will use this as a small overpayment on the larger mortgage.

Ooh - that has stirred up a memory of someone mentioning a website they used that helped make a list and keep track of who to notify when you move. If my memory releases the rest of the details to me i will let you know.

ETA - think it was this one, and if i remember correctly i think you could also get some cashback for joining the site so maybe check that out too. (Haven't used it myself so don't know if i am being helpful or not?)

Hurrah!!! we finally concluded missives on our new house and should be moving in 5.5 weeks time - 2nd June. Not looking forward to spending lots of money just after you move in since we will want to decorate, do a bit of work and also get the garden in order as well as finding bedroom furniture for us - but it will be exciting.

Last night was out as job-share girl was leaving so it was her do at the golf club - good night and was not drinking. Out tonight at friends son 21st.

Tomorrow whilst we have the chance we may go to a few furniture shops to see if we like furniture and prices etc before we go to collect DD from nana & papa.

Well its the end of April and I have viewed my mortgage details online.

Jan £234.68 for the month/averages £7.57 per day
Feb £210.02 for the month/average £7.50 per day
Mar £229.78 for the month/average £7.41 per day.
Apr £221.16 for the month/average £7.37 per day

There is only a small reduction in the daily interest as I have not made an overpayment this month or for May (money is in the bank to make a bigger overpayment after the house move),

Managed to get my holidays signed off from work so I can move house - hurrah!! Not looking forward to packing up stuff in boxes but not planning to do this until roughly 2 weeks before hand as we have no spare room and end up tripping up over too many boxes. Only 4.5 weeks to go and then the fun begins getting the house in order and to the way we want it.

Converted the rewards point collected on our CC into homebase vouchers which will come in handy over the next month or so.

I have an advisor looking at my old endowment policy to advise if better to continue or surrender and put money in stocks and shares. Will see what happens.

Moving day is 3 weeks tomorrow so I start packing up boxes upstairs at the weekend. It is amazing how many boxes already packed up and this is before we tackle the living room and of course the dreaded kitchen with all the crockery!! Also it will be bad packing up the loft on the Tuesday night. Luckily daughter is staying at grans so we can do the last bit of packing. Removals have been booked.

Being doing a bit of a spending spree buying a few new bits for the new house (well for daughters new room). We put in an order for over £50 to the catalogue and you get £25 off so this was good as it was stuff we needed to buy.

Been contacting some of the suppliers to advise them of the move and our gas and electric supplier is the new supplier in the new house and they are keeping our DD the same since we are overpaying at the moment and in credit - hurrah!!

Need to arrange for the alarm installation, phone connection, and 1st boiler service done just after we move - so need to do sort this this week.

2 weeks until the house move. A few more boxes are packed up and getting there slowly but off work next friday (mayday holiday) so will try to do a lot then.

Listed 12 items on ebay on the free listing days - 7 of these have sold so quite happy and the remainder along with other stuff have been donated to the charity shop. It is amazing how many trips you go to the charity shop.

Arranged for new house to have alarm fitted when we move, and boiler to be checked, Re-direction sorted but only have to sort out phone/broadband/tv deal. We are with BT at the moment was going to take to new house but no BT line so awaiting details from a friend on the deal with Virgin Media since this was used in the house last year when they lived there.

We are going to visit the house on saturday to measure up windows etc, find out how the CH works etc and will taking daughter to see it for the 1st time.
