Well Im trying not to stress about things now. We have found out that the neighbours house is for sale at a higher price even though it is the same house but they have changed their windows to UPVC. We managed to obtain their home report via third person and their valuation is at least £3k higher. Hopefully buyers will think that the are getting a bargain for ours as not sure if they will get what they wish. Time will tell.

This was very stressful during thurs and friday. Anyway had a health check at work on friday and guess what my blood pressure is high and chloestral is also slightly high - got to go to see my doctor this week.

Sales brochure details have been signed off and go to print. At least the photos are on the internet.

You'll see if the higher price for theirs might put people off from viewing and come to yours instead! Good luck for a strong market.

And take care of your health xx
  • Hi Lynn, happy belated birthday, going by when you started your thread which I'm just reading through. Hope things improve - take care.

Made another overpayment for february today of £150 - giving a total of £450 for february.

Sales brochure is printed and looks good. We had our 1st viewer last night and it seemed to go fairly well but he is going to view the house across the road also. We will no doubt find out what happens next week but he seems to want to move into this area. Fingers crossed and then we can review the house we like and hopefully put an offer in.

Docs not to worried about chlestoral for my age but is doing blood test and blood pressure is back to normal as I have calmed down about the house sale.

Close neighbours talking to hubbie about us selling our house.

Received a cheque from fixed bond ISA maturing but cannot put it into another ISA as I have used up my quota. Anyway it is in normal bank account as we will probably need this for the house move this year (hopefully). It earned £84 in interest - think this is ok for the interest rates at the moment.

Well the one and only viewer we had for the house put in an offer to the neighbours house as it has new windows and land to the side. Fingers crossed that the market picks up in the next few months going into Spring but I am continuing to overpay until I find out that we have a buyer and then will decide what to do.

Hubbie's car insurance is due up tomorrow and he managed to get a quote lower than the renewal amount but higher than last year's (we did go though topcashback so we have a payment coming our way).

Nothing else happening really. But as its end of february I have made a total overpayment this month of £450 which I am chuffed with and will detail below our progress since we went on the 4.59% deal in August 09

    August 09 £245.83/£7.93 per day
    Sept 09 £235.61/£7.85 per day
    Oct 09 £241.43/£7.79 per day
    Nov 09 £231.16/£7.71 per day
    Dec 09 £236.87/£7.64 per day
    Jan 10 £234.68/£7.57 per day
    Feb 10 £210.02/£7.50 per day

I am really pleased with our hardwork so far and hopefully we can continue with this before we have to increase our mortgage for a new house.

Hope to make the next overpayment on wednesday before the deadline of 12th March for the MFIT T2 challenge and may raid the savings tin to make part of the overpayment.

365/365 days challenge going ok but I am about 2 weeks before and hopefully I can make up.

Hi Lynn, sorry to hear about the buyer, but if he goes ahead with next door, at least it means the competition is out the way for the next viewer!!

Well done with all the OPs and with the car insurance too. Mine's due for renewal in May and I'm dreading it - premiums for everything seem to be going through the roof at the moment

Made March overpayment today of £350 and hope to make another payment later in the month from the £1 piggy bank. Would have been a bit more if we did not have to pay hubbie car insurance on the credit card and its the house insurance at the end of March - oh what fun!!! Lets see if we can get any more money back via topcashback as I think we have roughly £95 waiting for us soon.

House selling in Scotland seems to be slow at the moment so this gives me more time to overpay and save up money int he savings also.

Need to make a decision on what we are going to do for DD birthday, which will not cost too much.

DD came home today with a consent form for her 1st day trip with nursery - no doubt it will be first of many at the end of March and I am sure that she will like it.

Made another overpayment of £40 from the £1 savings tin which I raided.

We have a viewer tomorrow and will see what happens next.

We went out to the local cavery yesterday for dinner and it was good and DD liked it.

We have decided to go bowling with the granparents and then back to the house for a bite to eat for DD birthday in 2 weeks time. Presents bought and got lovely princess wrapping paper at a reasonable price.

Friday evening we had 2 FTB viewing our house and we will see what happens this week. Since then we are discussing whether we go to view the only house we semi like in the area we are looking as it needs a lot of work - if things move fast this week then I think we will be going for a 2nd viewing and taking my dad (surveyor) for his professional opinion. Otherwise we will have to cross our fingers that more houses come on the market in our price range - all the ones lately seem to be over £300K!!!

Had a nice mothers day even though we ended up visiting both sets of mums to give them their present which they liked.
