Received a bit of money from various sources this month, so was able to overpay a further £150 towards the mortgage making the total for November being £490. The remainder of the money will go into my savings.

Got a few days off work to do and hopefully finish my xmas shopping.

At the moment trying to track down a toy trumpet since DD wants this for her christmas. Hopefully I can find a reasonable priced one as not sure if she will play with this much - time will tell.

Await a decision to see if we can get our money back through paypal cause we bid and paid for an item through ebay - no goods arrived. I will be more causious the next time I use this.

Well we had a great night away in a local 4* hotel on saturday with an excellent deal. Since we mentioned it was our wed anniversary they left out 1/2 bottle champagne and thorntons chocolates which was lovely. Down side was that there was a fire alarm where we had to stand outside for a while until the fire bridage came in the freezing cold but the dinner was lovely and we ended up getting the desserts for free as they arrived late. Friends came down to meet up in the bar afterwards.

Hope to hand in mortgage overpayment on wednesday when off work and try to get things ready for going away next week.

    Hi lynn11
I has grest pleasure in reading your diary. Well done..you are so careful with money.Your diary has give me some ideas.I think i am going to start with my electrics and Gas bill.I have never read my meter at all. I think i will now,and give them my readings and see if my monthly payment is going to go down or any refunds from them. The only down side is,i might have to pay them,if the meter works the other way..Well i am going to try.The first thing i have to do is find the meter box . well........

Hi bee78 - I am glad that you have picked up a few ideas and I did pick up ideas from other people's diaries also. It is good to hear that some folk read my diary but really I do this to keep myself motivated as well bringing down the mortgage and trying to increase our savings so that we can hopefully move to a 3 bed next year.

Well I managed to buy a trumpet/sax for DD and hope that she likes and will play with it. I have decided now that no more buying for her as spent enough as well as I have 2 items in for her birthday at the end of March.

Managed to get our money back from ebay which is good and also got the items we wanted for DD birthday from a business seller at a cheaper price which is brillant.

Only got to buy 1 xmas present for hubbie's gran and also got about £30 to spend on hubbie with bits and pieces. The next big job is to start writing christmas cards and wrapping up all the presents which are under DD bed.

We have had our bedroom painted and it looks lovely with a nice purple feature wall (only need to find a nice picture to put above the bed). We also got the inlaws hob and oven as they were renewing their kitchen and their oven is under 4yrs old - it looks good in the kitchen even though we are waiting for gas safe guy to come back tomorrow to connect the hob.

Next year we will probably have to paint DD room pink (colour she wants) and freshen up the living room prior to hopefully selling.

Trying to continue to put money into savings for our next house move.

Well its the end of November and I have viewed my mortgage details online.

Aug £245.83 for the month/averages £7.93 per day
Sept £235.61 for the month/average £7.85 per day
Oct £241.43 for the month/average £7.79 per day.
Nov £231.16 for the month/average of £7.71 per day

At least I can see the daily rate going down which is good to see the results of all the overpaying being done. One more overpayment to make hopefully prior to 12th December and fingers crossed I can get our mortgage figure down to under £61,000 which maybe possible - in 12 days we will find out.

We visited a local dobbies to get santas letter and DD was delighted with her reply. Next week we are off to visit santa and go on some rides - I am sure that DD will enjoy. It is good to see her getting excited about santa as this is the 1st year that she really sort of knows what is going on.

Well going to hit my bed soon and I have to do some cooking this week for a BB coffee morning on Saturday morning.

Made December overpayment today of £265 (£240 normal overpayment allocated plus £25 from the mortgage tin). Therefore the full overpayment total for 2009 was £4135 - well chuffed with this as I did not think I would make the £4000 target I originally set due to unexpected expenses at the beginning of the year.

Only several days away from the new 3yr challenge which I have signed up for and hopefully can keep up the good work.

Had a great days out with daughter and hubbie visiting santa - she was very shy at first but loved the merryground rides. Then we put up our christmas decorations yesterday.

Trying to get the final things for christmas as we are having the inlaws and gran over for christmas dinner. Got all christmas presents in apart from a few pressies for hubbie.

Managed to do all my baking on friday and the coffee morning was a great success.

Cooker installed but waiting for an electrician to fit a new silver cooker hood which we had to buy but will finish off the kitchen.
