Great... now I need to go!
Our car boot was a success last weekend. I didn't think we'd get far from breaking even but we did really well... also didn't think I'd enjoy it that much but I really did! Let us know how you get on with yours!MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -
Received a cheque from my solicitor to reimburse me of my excess, which we incurred due to my accident in May, so some of the money will be going to the mortgage as overpayment and some to the savings. Need to see what else will receive for other expenses.
Hubbie has been clearing out the loft to see what stuff we have for car boot sale in 2 weeks time (fingers crossed for dry weather). Have a few bits and pieces as well as he has singled out several items which he is going to try to sell on ebay first, otherwise they will go to the car boot sale.
Been able to buy birthday banners and a candle in the pound shop, good will be needing this next week for my mum and then next month for father-in-law. Decided on the present to buy for mum, (jointly with brothers) so need to go tomorrow and buy.
Fairly good this week with food shopping but had to stock up with alcohol as we had visitors last night, so ended up spending the usual amount this week.MFIT T2 Challenge - No 46

Made another overpayment for August of £160 so in total it makes £340 for August. Quite chuffed at this since £100 was from receiving back my insurance excess re car crash.
Hubbie managed to sell 3 items on ebay and very pleased with the money he got for his superninedo. We are planning on using this money to buy some reasonable wine deal.
Set up a regular children's saver for daughter so at least some of her money will be earning 6% for the year.
I was away at a medical yesterday in connection with my car crash so we will see what happens in the next few months.
We have eventually switched over to Scottish Hyrdo and new the direct debit is set for september (a reduction of £20 a month). Great savings.MFIT T2 Challenge - No 46

Just calculated the mortgage overpayments for this month and the daily rate for August started at £7.99 and finished at £7.93 (not bad reducing this by 6p a month), as this is the first month we are on our fixed rate of 4.59%.
Hope to make mortgage overpayment on wednesday morning.
Put a few more items on ebay and time will tell if they sell or not.
Hubbie's tax code changed, so we have more in the monthly wages as well as I got a slight wage rise - will find out on thursday how much is in my fortnightly pay. Have increased our savings and a small increase to mortgage overpayment and hopefully we can survive on the remainder of the money, as it was getting really tight.
The local village had their annual flower show and hubbie put in some home baking and managed to win the cup. he is chuffed about this.MFIT T2 Challenge - No 46

I managed to overpay £200 towards the mortgage for September and will contribute more later on in the month.
I got an wage increase of £13.50 every 2 weeks - not bad.
We managed to sell 1 item on ebay so this is another £3.20 into the mortgage tin.MFIT T2 Challenge - No 46

Well Im on for a rant. We recently switched from Scottish Power to Scottish Hydro and everything seems to be going well. I cancelled the DD for scottish power mid August as the DD will be getting set up and expecting them to invoice me manually if we owed them anything.
today we received a letter from scottish power stating that they owe us money for electric - great news and hopefully we will receive a letter from the gas dept as well. But on viewing online banking tonight - they have taken £110 out of our account today.
I spoke to the bank about this and the new DD were set up 20th August and seemingly they set them up because they are big boys. Need to sort this out with them tomorrow and get any outstanding money from them as well as the extra £110 they took which they should not have. It is frustrating and I will also be stating that no further DD will be authorised even though the bank says that they may set this as they cannot guarantee anything.MFIT T2 Challenge - No 46

Got Scottish Power sorted out - thank goodness. I have received 2 cheques back for electric and await another cheque in respect of the credit for gas.
Just need to send in our £40 voucher we got from Scottish Hydro so that our account will be more in credit for the winter.
We traded in some of our reward points from the credit card and got some next vouchers - so will be going there to buy winter jacket/coat for daughter and not costing up anything.
Made an overpayment of £240 to the mortgage (mostly from the credit given by scottish power) today. Total overpayment for September is £440.
It is lovely and sunny here today and supposed to the same tomorrow, so me and my mum are going to a car boot sale on a farm to see if we can make some extra money, Fingers crossed we make a bit.
Have been trying out new baking recipes so we have plenty of biscuits to do us for the week.MFIT T2 Challenge - No 46
