We like the wee drink of asti and then putting all of the santa presents out before going to bed. DD woke up at 7.30pm so reasonable lie in for us - she loves her fairy princess costume, board games and of course bike which has been riden in the living room due to snow and ice still around.

Note to self - do not buy too much santa presents, as DD says santa brought too much. I thought it was a reasonable pile plus her bike - oh well.

We had a great day yesterday with nana and papa visiting the morning and then going to parents (gran & granpa) in the afternoon for dinner.

Going to Hubbie parents today for dinner (nana & papa) and hope to get to some of the sales over the next few days - see if there are any major bargains we need - maybe curtains for the living room, since there are none since we moved in.

Hope everyone had a nice christmas with their loved ones.

Yesterday we went shopping for a few things and I managed to get a pair of jeans (tight fit at the moment but have put on weight over the christmas period) so need to be good after the new year so they fit better.

Also managed to stock up on wrapping paper for next year, bows and gift tags as well as most of our normal christmas cards for next year. Quite chuffed about this.

DD spent some money she got from great granparents so she got a nice sweatshirt for next winter from the disney shop, new cup as well as a wee toy and the rest of the money will be put into her bank.

Today we went to dunelm and managed to get 2 set of curtains, curtain poles etc at good reasonable prices. No curtains were in the living room so we decided to get these in the sale - looking too up, but we have decided the only curtains left in the house when we bought it was the stairs and we will try to buy some curtains and new curtain pole for this tomorrow before going visiting.

Spent a wee bit in the sale but most of it needed.

Well its the end of 2010 and it has been an eventful one. Managed to sell our old house, buy a new house and move in June, ended up in hospital to find out that I have kidney stones - still being dealt with, brother also in hospital in November for operation, a bit of worrying time re hubbie job but all ok at the moment. Hope 2011 will be better and I can get my kidney stones sorted in the 1st few months or so and then think about another child before I get too old and DD starts school in 2012.

I have been doing the figures for this year.

    2010 January £60803.69
Increased to in June to £115322.37
    2010 30th December £108286.17

For 2011 I would like to to get the mortgage down to £98000 for December and according to my spreadsheet this is viable and hopefully will be able to better this.

I hope I can my sealed £1 pot for 2011 for extra towards the mortgage - I managed to save £307 this year and was chuffed with this.

Staying at home today - asked parents up but they have the flu bug so its just me and hubbie with DD upstairs sleeping

Happy New Year and hope you are all out celebrating.

Made an overpayment to part 1 of £400 and overpayment of £240 to part 2 of the mortgage today. Also whilst in town managed to get dad birthday's present plus a wee parcel for DD's parcel the parcel pressie which was only £0.50 - happy about this.

DD has been going to a few parties lately from nursery but managed to get nice parcels I think for roughly £8.

Our shower is only flowing out luke warm water even though at the highest setting, we phoned our boiler maintenance company and they say the boiler is fine. Plumber arrived today to say that our boiler is not at the right capacity but this problem would be solved with a 2 tap bath/shower thing instead of 1 mixer tap - so will need to get this sorted in the next few weeks when plumber is not too busy.

At the moment we are looking at deals for car recovery as it runs out later in the week - though topcashback of course.

We managed to get a reasonable deal with AA for car recovery as topcashback was not working at the time.

today was at hospital for clinic appointment re kidney stones and I have to go back in 6mths as they will just monitor it and get on with my life - phone them if I get pain but they do not think they are bigger enough for this. Time will tell and I can move on.

Got new bath/shower tap and plumber is due out next monday to fit and fingers crossed this will fix the luke warm water in the shower.

Well we returned the new bath/shower mixer as it would not solve the problem. Plumber made a bit of improvement on the hot water so we will monitor it - he seems to think we need to upgrade our boiler.

Made overpayments today £100 to part 1 and £60 to part 2 giving a total made for January of £800.

This weekend DD is having a stayover at grans so we are having a supermarket indian and then going to cinema. Should be good.
