nnm - kick boxing is Wednesday, but prob won't do it after the free session - £31 per month (ouch - gym membership costs that - often with kick boxing classes thrown in.)
Ouch thats expensive, shame as it will probably be fun. I got a leaflet through the door, for a "legs, bums and tums class" £3 a go twice a week, i can do my dvd's with you lot for free ;) The HHE's are great wether we do them together or not as we are getting some exercise rather than the HHSS's we usually all do, i love them :T

EDIT: cross posted Polkadots post, hi there, everyone is loving the HHE's will be good when you can join us :)

Ok so I figured if I put it down here then I am more likely to actually do something!

My problem is more than being overweight so here goes. I am 19 years old and have already had numerous serious operations and am now suffering from a severe spinal condition which will only get worse yet they can do nothing about. I live with my OH who really doesnt like healthy food and has to have meat/ fish as the main component in every meal. Im not supposed to be doing any exercise as what helps one condition makes another worse. I do however manage an average of an hour and a half to two hours of walking with the dog every day, though obviously I cannot power walk! The pain killers I am on are just below morphine so are very strong and take over my mind as well as body. This isnt good considering I'm at university and need to get a lot of reading and essays done for deadlines. I also have the house to run and life in general so feel like I never have enough time and with my medication everything takes me so much longer!

So you are probably wondering what this has to do with my weight?Well I dont know 100% but in order to lose weight I cant really do more exercise and as far as food goes not only do I have a limited budget, a meat and calorie loving OH but I also cant just eat salad because my medication requires proper substantial food. So at the minute I just want to scream because I feel like I am struggling with everything, and that just makes my food issues worse.

In some ways I dont quite know how to do this, apart from be more sensible snack wise, and I think that it is going to take a huge effort and therefore any support that I would get from posting on this thread would be invaluable. I have so much work to do that I know in all honesty Im not gonna be able to give this 100% for at least another month, but I guess that gives me a chance to ease into it.

Sorry for the huge rather confused post. I just hope I can do this and somehow have it make my life easier, not more complicated/ stressfull. Thank you to anyone who has read this far, and I hope I can eventually be a regular on this thread.

    dmv.

Welcome dmv - does OH like veggies? Rather than salad I mean - and diets or healthy eating is more than salads (not a great salad lover myself). You can have meat and fish as both can be healthy - a lot of that is how it's cooked - grilling or steaming being the healthiest options.

Snackwise I try to only buy healthy options - makes eating rubbish a little harder - I have a museli bar mid morning and fruit in the afternoon. I love crisps though - but the kids crisps such as square crisps or monster munch have less fat in them than normal crisps so I occasionally get a packet of those.

Everyone's very friendly - and I'm sure that there will be someone along in the morning who'll be able to give you more advice too.

It's now technically Tuesday, but my Monday weigh in was STS

I'm sooooo pleased with that, I lost 2lb over xmas, and my friend was up visiting for a whole week, and a bunch of naughty foods magically appeared, and threw themselves down my throat. Oopsies. Combine that with the booze and GOD FORBID doritos, I was expecting a 2lb gain.

Back to my good ol' habits now though :p

and I did really enjoy those naughtys, but not enough to wanna do it often!

Doing the Wii fit at 9pm if anyone wants to join me, once the kids have gone to school but doing less this morning as my knees and back hurt from yesterday:rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi everyone and Happy New Year:D

Just had my first WI of the New Year and was amazed to have only put on 1lb. Not quite sure how that happened as I've eaten and drunk loads over the last 2 weeks but am very pleased :j .

    Good luck everyone x

Only 1 lb on over the holidays is a great result!:T Were you trying hard to be good or did it just happen on its own?:A

Going to do a HHE (is that what its called) at 10 am and will do every morning at 10 if anyone wants to join in. Mine is walking the dog and involves driving to the park, letting said dog (Charlie - see icon) out to race madly about with all the other little [strike]boys and girls [/strike] doggies while us humans take a more leisurly walk from one end of the park to the other.:D I am not sure how far it is but think maybe 1/2 a kilometer? Doesn't sound like much however at one time I couldn't even stand up long enough to fry an egg and would have to sit down while it cooked:o Couldn't walk to the end of my block and back again without panting and holding my back in agony. So for me walking 1/2 a kilometer and keeping up a conversation and laughing our heads off at the same time is fantastic! Go me!:j:j:j
