Hello and thanks for the reply fredsnail! We both eat vegetables but to be honest neither of us particular enjoy them so the food ratio for him tends to be meat, potatoes and then veg whereas for me the ratio of the three is more equal but only because I force myself. I steam fish but tend to grill/ oven cook most meat. If i fry anything at all it is dry fried and any excess poured away. I have a set of weight watchers books from about 6/7 years ago so I think I will have a go at following that and see how I go.

I have to do this and if everyone else here can do it then I have no reason to make excuses!

    OMG.

When I did my starting weight last Saturday, it was pre-breakfast, so I should have been very light - and I weighed 70kg (11 stone).

Today, I couldn't resist, and went to the gym to weigh myself.

After eating lots of food and STUFFING MYSELF SILLY with pasta over the last three days (I didn't join SW til Sat eve, so couldn't start til Sunday) I have already lost 0.75kg which is 1.5lbs. I just couldn't believe it. I cannot weight (ha!) to weigh myself on Saturday morning to see how much I've lost. I cannot believe how fabulously SW has worked! I haven't even been to the gym!

Three days in and I'm a convert!!!

dmv - sorry to hear about your dilemma and health problems. As you can see from my note above, I have just started Slimming World online. I cannot BELIEVE how much I can eat and still lose weight - I was very very sceptical about it. Pasta is one of the foods that you each as much of as you like - as it meat (albeit on different days) and lots of other foods like potatoes and rice and fish etc. I don't like many veggies, either - I don't eat raw veg at all - and I've had hardly any recently. I'd recommend a look at their website to see how it works - it's not so much a diet as "eat as MUCH as you like of this all day".

I'm an utter convert after 3 days - as my raving probably shows. :) But my own weight aside, I would recommend a look - SW doesn't recommend diets and calorie counting and restricting your food intake so that you're hungry, so you might find it ideal for you if you need to eat lots, can't do much exercise, and don't like salad and veg.

    Today, I ate:
Breakfast - oats, banana and yoghurt (5 syns, free, free)
Lunch - pasta and cheese! (free, HEb)
Dinner - Rice and veggies (free, free)
Snacks - 25g crisps, nectarines x 2, apples x 2, pasta, block cheese (syns, free, free, free, HEb)
Drinks - diet coke, water, black tea, milk (free, free, free, HEa)

Very pleased today, and it's spurned me to be even better next week!

    Hope everyone is well. :)

KiKi :naughty: you naughty naughty girl!:p, you must not weigh yourself before the week is up! This is for 2 main reasons. First your weight can fluctuate from day to day and if you weigh yourself again tomorrow and you have gained a pound you will be devasted:mad:! Secondly some people (ok - it's me) see they have lost already and relax the diet for the rest of the week and slow things down for themselves.

I know it is hard not to do it - I used to weigh myself about 3 times a day for months and I have finally managed to stop!:o

ps - whoohoo :T:T:j:j:beer::j:j:T:T on your loss :rotfl::rotfl:
When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!
  • :rotfl: that's great kiki - it really is an amazing plan.

dmv - thanks for posting your totally unconfusing post. Lots of sympathy re your situation: that is a tough one. A number of us here will certainly beable to relate to many of the things you are contending with so feel in good supportive company.
I'm an sw fan too so it may be worth taking a peak, though I know different plans seem to suit differnt people, as the variety on here shows. I'm not a natural veggie lover either, but find I have been gradually able to up my intake. I do love meat though, which is why I love being able to eat as much as I want on sw red days. Salad doesn't fill me either: I can't do going hungry - it's a rubbish way to live and not particularly healthy for me so you need to find a wayof eating that gives you enough to eat: I think you have enough to cope with as it is.
Take it one step at a time. Perhaps keep a food diary this week to see what you eat as a starting point for making changes and seeing when you danger time for unhealthy snacks are.
Re OH eating habbits, I found I could do sw and cook the same for OH, just more of it and not have the potatoes myself. I know FFM does Rosemary Conley and the family all have the same food but she just doesn't havesome of the options herself.
Most importantly = keep posting here:D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Well, that's true, I would be devastated. (I have to confess that I didn't know I wasn't supposed to weigh myself for a week...the only reason I wasn't going to was because I'd decided not to. Didn't know it was SW rule thing. though! I shall be GOOD next week - thank you for letting me know. :) )

Secondly some people (ok - it's me) see they have lost already and relax the diet for the rest of the week and slow things down for themselves.

Ah, I have precisely the opposite problem. Lose weight and I am motivated to be angelic. Gain it and I eat more out of sheer rebellion. ;)

    Well, der. ;)

I should really, really be in bed. *sigh*

You must be tired! It was there all the time:D :

Breakfast - oats so simple with blueberries and milk (heb, free, hea)

But I must admit you did make me go and look:rotfl:. I always have my hea its my heb I sometime forget! I don't eat bread at all now or very rarely so unless I have cereal I sometimes forget to have a B. I do use olive oil sometimes - 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil is a HEB:T
