Hi Peps!
I'm returning to the fold and rejoining a group tomorrow. I've tried several other diets since and SW seems to be the one for me!!! Gonna be tough, as I'm well past my best.....got myself set up for a 5km run in march as incentive.

I think the sucess of EE rather depends on the choices you make on the main red and green plans.
For example -
On a red day, personally, both B choices would be weighed potatoes / peas / cannelini beans etc... ie, a starchy carbohydrate.
Now, if I was to take this as an EE day, I would be able to eat the meat/fish elements freely, AND the potatoes/peas/beans freely. In ADDITION I would need to choose a B choice (bread, porridge, cereal etc) that I wouldn't have chosen before - the equivalent of an additional 6 syns included within the plan.
Now, conversely, If I were the sort of person who took my B choices as cereal bars / toast / breakfast cereal etc, then EE would give freedom in my meal plans whilst actively reducing the B choices (and hence syns) in my day - I think EE would work really well for this type of person.
This is why I suggest that for me (someone who rarely eats bread, never eats cereal bars, breakfast cereal, tinned soup etc) This would do better as a maintainance plan - it would give me the freedom to select from a wider range of food groups for my meals, and it would also encourage me to add a fibre (in the form of porridge oats or toast) based B choice.
Does that make sense to anyone else? :rotfl:0 -
Good green day for me . i had the chickpea burgers that are in the little booklet that came with the magazine - yummy but I'll put less chilli in next time as they were a little hot!
Am craving chocolate a bit but thats after the full on sweety fest that was christmas so I'm not surprised.0 -

I hope everyone is doing ok?
I have a couple of potentially tricky meals coming up and am wondering how to deal with them?
On Wednesday I'm going to a local hotel for a works training course and lunch will be provided, what it will be I have no idea.
Then on Thursday we're going out for my bosses leaving do at a local resturant, the firm are paying so it doesnt matter what we choose but again I'm wondering how to deal with it?
Any words of wisdom chaps?
For your works training course, I would ring the hotel and find out what they will be providing. You dont have to say you are enquiring because of your SW - simply say something like - I have an allergy to..... or I have high cholesteral - been told off by the doc - got to watch what I eat....
Members in my class have said that restaurants etc "take more notice" if you mention the word "allergy" rather than "diet"
For your meal out, melon perhaps for starter? or prawn cocktail without the sauce?
Main - steak perhaps with a jacket potato and salad or a roast dinner with lots of meat and veg? try to steer away from creamy pastas or pizzas. Or perhaps lamb shank, mash and veg?
pudding - fruit salad? leave the cream.
I have to say I am not very restrained when I go out - I typically try to be relatively good with my starter and main (depending on what choices are available to me) and then go all out with the pudding
If you try to stay clear of anything pastry based or anything cooked in a creamy sauce, you should be ok. Suggest you flexi syn - allow yourself "x" amount of syns for your meal out and base your other meals for that day around superfree /speed food.
Another tip for the hotel meal - eat a huge breakfast before you go.0 -
I managed to stick to my first day back. decided to go with red, so for lunch out with my mum and sisters I had a cajun chicken and bacon salad with no dressing. Then for tea I had a Salmon stirfry with garlic, lemon and chilli.
im soooo excited though...we went to try on bridesmaid dresses for my sisters wedding and I fit into a 12 (no problem) it was shorter than id normally choose but looked great.. The best thing is she bought 3 size 12's....that means im wearing the same size dress as my other sister and the other bridesmaid (both in their 20's and fit ) this is me right now :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j
so even though i know ive put on (WI lunchtime tomorrow) I feel fab. Ive not been a 12 since i was 19 (now 32) I also tried on a size 12 jeans in a different shop just to make sure, and yep, they wre comfy.
Ive never managed to lose weight any other way other than SW. Ive tried Atkins - lasted 2 weeks
WW - lasted 3 weeks and was STARVING the whole time
Scottish slimmers - as above
Healthy eating, no junk or alcohol - on and off, managed 3 days max each time.
Ive now done SW since march, skipped most of the summer and now 10/12 lb (we'll see 2morro) away from target.
sorry for going on, ive been feeling really low recently and this is the boost I needed. I feel more confident with my bf, I am chooseing nicer clothes, even wearing a touch more make up (never used to wear a drop) as I feel different.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the welcomes.
Well I've gone and done it - registered and attended first class this evening. As I haven't stepped on scales for years I was shocked by how much weight I'd actually got to lose - 6stone 10lbs. Blimey is seems so much (it is so much).
I think I'm going to set myself 10lb targets instead of looking at the whole total I've to lose. Felt a bit like crying actually but have managed to be sensible about the whole thing.
Off to study the books now - think I'm going to be a Green Day person!
Going to weigh out my oats for brekkie

nic - that is absolutly fantastic news!!! Size 12 - I can dream - but I will get there too!
annifranakapan - I have 5stone 5.5lbs to lose - seems a long way away right now doesn't it? But it can be done and I believe in SW (have lost 5stone already with them over the years)
My new group is a tenth the size of my last one and the consultant is REALLY lovely - she looked right at me when I said I have to do it this year, and just said 'if you need any help or that extra boost come and see me' - my previous consultant hardly looked at me at all let alone supprted me! :T
EE today (already had it planned before she said not to )
Eggs, spaghetti and leftover mash for brekkie (yes I know!)
sardines on toast for lunch (HEb)
Fish pie with cheese on top (HEa)
Water, squash and diet pop for drinks
Lots of fruit for snacks (which I hope will make up the 'third' for breakfast and lunch!)!
Moving into my own office today so I'm going to buy a friut bowl to keep on my desk! :j
