    Evening all,

Can I have a hug please? I feel down and need cheering up

My OH has a nasty abcess in his gum which has made his face swell up, he's seen his dentist this morning who gave him antibiotics to clear the infection but the tooth cant come out for another month. He seemed ok earlier this evening but has gone to bed shivering complaining he feels cold even though he's covered in tonnes of blankets and the heating is on.

I'm worried about him and cant sleep, my appetite has crashed too and I'm finding myself snacking on sugar and coffee to keep myself awake during the day, this has been going on since the weekend and I'm exhausted now :(

I'm not expecting to lose any weight this week what with all this going on. The one saving grace I have is that I'm attracting alot of compliments from my work colleagues....I dont normally bother with my apperance but last Friday in a huff and feeling older than my years I suddenly decided it was about time I looked after myself, I chose a much girlier outfit than usual plus I straightened my hair and used some make-up, ever since people in the office have been saying how great I look. It's a real confidence booster and is keeping my spirits up whilst OH recovers...soon I hope.

Sorry to waffle, I just wanted to get that off my chest as I'm tired and feeling a bit emotional. I love my OH to bits and hate to see him suffer.

    Bring on the weekend again......please

Sorry to hear your OH is unwell, hopefully the antibiotics will kick in and make him feel better soon, if you are at all into essential oils you could put tea tree oil directly onto abcess, tastes disgusting but great for numbing area and getting rid of infections, buy a good quality oil though. Also could make mouthwash with mix of tea tree, vodka and water. Myrrh is also good, and you can buy tincture of myrrh from chemists or health food shops.
Great to hear you are getting compliments, as this always gives a boost, doesn't it.
Just because your paranoid does not mean they are not out to get you ! :rotfl:

Here you go Lix3yy :grouphug:, I hope your OH is better this morning, it sounds like his fever could have broken last night so hopefully he is! Try and get yourself some rest today, I find a nap works wonders - perhaps 15 mins during your lunch break somewhere quiet? (I use to lock my office door with a note on the outside saying "conferance call - do not disturb):o

  • Hi all

Li33y - big hugs from me too babe - sorry about OH, hopefully he is over the worst, but whilst you are looking after him, please take care of yourself too - have an 'indulgent' meal (I'm thinking egg, chips and beans:rotfl: ) and bring yourself back with some comfort eating, and maybe a long bath...

Great loss northernlass - 3lb is fantastic :T

I am bimbling along.. I will have to miss WI tonight as I am in the wrong part of the country :rotfl: so have to see how I go after another week of makeshift maintaining.

I have been doing a mixture of reds, greens and easy days this week - yesterday was EE, and all went well until the garlic bread in the evening... I don't feel toooo bad, as everything else was :A and I have resisted this type of food all the time I was losing the weight, I just need to keep a close reign on this sort of thing creeping back into my regular diet for no sensible reason. All that said though, my monthly cycle is here for a bit, so maybe that explains it. I shan't be too hard on myself his time

Ah well, nice day planned with DD and the museums of Cambridge - lots of walking, and maybe somewhere out for lunch - there are plenty of good choices here, so that will be fun.

    Have a lovely day everyone!

Morning. Huge hug for you Liz3yy :D :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
Hope your OH is feeling much better real soon and fab news about the compliments. rightly deserved. :j and yes bring on the weekend :j

well done to marion as well. fab result. :T :T :T You must be so pleased. your menus are always an inspiration. please keep posting them.

Weigh in tonight for me and I am *hoping* for a 1 pound loss. I weighed myself this morning at home and this is what my scales would lead me to believe although I suspect my home scales are leading me up the garden path :rotfl: As long as I dont put on, I will be happy.

I have pretty much come to the end of my HEB challenge and whilst it has been fun thinking of different options, I have kind of cheated in that I have synned alpen lights because I wouldnt be able to have them just one day as a HEB option and then no more for the rest of the week and today I couldnt resist my alpen fix so had 43g alpen (which I will syn) served with greek 0% yogurt and a chopped up nectarine. I also had 42g cheese on an extra easy day on Sunday as my HEB because I thought I would save the syns (my HEA option being used for milk). As I have had cheese as an HEA - that in my book is cheating!

The ultimate thing I found is that whilst I might have wanted a particular HEB, I couldnt because I had already eaten it (that week) and therefore found I was more likely to snack on something with syns  so I think i will just pick and choose my HEB options as I fancy them, perhaps not repeating something more than twice in one week!

    Have a good day everyone.

    nb menu (extra easy)
breakfast : 43g alpen (need to work out syn value), chopped up nectarine (free), greek 0% yogurt (free)

Lunch tin of Heinz Chicken and barley broth (HEB)

    Tea (after weigh in)
    Jacket chips (free)
Birds eye thai chicken piece (3.5syns)

snacks : alpen light (3 syns)
    2 oranges

drinks black coffee, tea (milk from HEA)
  • Fantastic loss northernlass - 3lb is great:T:T :T [strike]And I am not the least bit jealous of you:p[/strike]:rotfl::rotfl:

I woke up with the munchies this morning so I made a double portion of breakfast rice with blueberries and topped it with 0% Total sweetened with splenda, served the whole thing up in a pasta bowl and now feel totally stuffed:o:o - but at least it was free food and I didn't have the toasted bagel that I fancied (one wouldn't have been enough!):rotfl:

I am pleased to report another 100% day yesterday, this could get habit forming as I really enjoy the challenge - who'd have thunk it!!:rotfl::p

    Yesterday I had:

Breakfast - just fruit and a muller since it was weigh in day.

Lunch - Toasted bacon and tomato sandwich with a side salad and pickled beetroot (heb, free)

Dinner - Fish (cod and salmon), rice, peas, sweetcorn, soya beans, onions and peppers (all free) all baked together in the Remoska. (free)

milk in coffees through the day was my HEA plus in the afternoon I had a cookie that was 4 syns

late night snack was a meringue with frozen raspberries, 0% total and a raspberry muller (2.5 syns)

Have a good one everybody, I am taking Charlie to the groomers today for a cut and blowdry and have just realised that he has his hair done way more than I do!

    Love
