  • Weekly Weigh In Hi everyone, well I am back from weigh in and have managed to lose 1.5 lbs this week. Also got told off for saying is that all!!:p I have been 100% for 6 days this week and I guess I was expecting miracles!:rotfl: I still can't understand why some women who look quite slim really, manage to lose 3 lbs a week regularly and I don't:mad:

But then I put my sensible head back on and remembered that I have eaten very very well all week, have had my syns for treats and have not even once felt deprived or on a diet. So if I can eat like that and still lose a pound and half a week I should thank my luckly stars really!!

So I have decided I am happy with my weight loss this week after all!:o:o;)

Well done to all the losers and maintainers and hugs for the gainers!! Welcome to all the new members too!

    Love
    Marion

Well done Marion!! :T :A :j That's great news, that you're back to being a loser!! (In the nicest possible way of course!! ;) ).

Glad you're back on track, just goes to show when you focus properly on the plan it can be done!!

I think I'm gonna aim to stick to the plan 100% for the ext 12 days!! Maye doesn't sound a lot to all you pro's - but I usually find I have at least one slip up every week - so if I can get to the end of the month, I'll be really quite chuffed!! :D

    Afternoon all!!

How you feeling now after the op Lo-bush? ...................

    xx

I'm Ok CWM, thanks for asking. Hubby and the boys have been trying to look after me, but I'm a terrible patient. I don't like being restricted and told what I can and can't do. To be honest, they can't win with me, when they try to stop me doing stuff I get cross with them for 'smothering' me and making a fuss and then when they don't do something I also get cross. I think they are just trying to keep their heads down now !

Well done Marion 1.5lbs is a good healthy loss, although I know where you are coming from with the disappointment thing. Maybe if you are 100% again this week next week will show a bigger loss.

Hi Flat Eric, sorry for the late reply but im just catching up after a long weekend.
My class has been digital for a while. We come in and my consultant has her laptop, you give her your card, she pops you in the laptop reader thingy, then you step on the scales and it all updates, You also hand over your book and she writes in that too.
When you are all sitting down going round everyones weight loss etc she uses a hand held computer and reads off that. The only problem with that is noone seems to be able to work them very well and it gets all confused, but usually gets a laugh. We still get the normal password, so I dont know if that will change soon, we never told that would happen.
And people can still come in late, sometimes she leaves them til after the talk. hope that all makes sense?
I personally dont see what difference it has made changing over, its certainly not any quicker.

Thank you for your interesting and informative post. It seems like it is to happen in our group imminently so should be fun!! I have been invited to join the social team and go for "training" on Wednesday so will no doubt be fully up to speed by then. :D

Im quite intrigued that it seems SW will be safeguarding their online members site with members having to type in unique membership numbers to gain access. I can see both sides of the argument but in this current credit crunch, you would think they would perhaps offer members who cant attend class an option to pay a small monthly fee to be able to access it?
  • Hi does anyone have a slimming world cheesecake recipe?

Sorry can't remember who posted this on here a few weeks ago but credit to them!

    cheesecake without a base ...
    combine;
2 tubs of Quark (approx 10oz each tub)
    3 Eggs
    1/2 cup of splenda
    1 tsp vanilla

Beat all together for 10 mins until light.
spoon into pan, Bake in oven gas mark 4 for 40 mins.

Top with whatever you want .
I am making a coffee gelatine layer on top.

Totally free !!! and it tastes like heaven.

    Think i might try and plan a few red days this week - I always struggle so any additional ideas to the below are always welcome;
    Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner ideas;
bacon & eggs (in various forms)
    Ham/Mushroom omlette
Breakfast quiche (haven't made this before!)
    Sausage & egg
Chilli con carne (with HEb jacket/wedges)
    Sardies on toast (HEb bread)
Gammon, green beans & SW wedges/chips (HEb with skin on)
Fish & chips (HEb with skin on)
casserole (not overly keen) and jacket pot.

Any others please? :o Need to plan this one carefully as I always struggle and am always hungry on red! :o

    Thanks
  • Hi all,
I joined SW last Monday, so tonight is my first WI. I had been a WW girl last year and did quite well (considering I have PCOS) but two miscarriages later and it's all crept back on and I'm back to where I started.

Anyway I chose SW over WW as it seems to encourage you to make healthier choices than WW, as syns are quite high for "naughty" foods, whereas I could eat 26 points worth of rubbish on WW.

I've not followed the plan to the letter, I've had a bit more bread and weetabix than I should have, but nothing drastic. I've not had sweets, chocolate, biscuits, cakes, crisps etc all week and to be honest I've not missed them. My only vice has been a couple of Skinny Cow ice cream biscuits things. Unfortunately I can't find a syn value for them (what a shame :D !)

I'm hoping to follow EE all of next week. Although I really can't see how you can eat all of thosse free foods without gaining weight.

    Hiya SC

Good to hear you had a great weekend and decided to ENJOY yourself. I think you needed this breathing space for sometime.

I seldom have red days, as I get too hungry as well.

    Here are some ideas..

    Spagetti Bolognaise (HEB pasta)

Tuna Steaks (grilled, with squeeze of lime, with HEB chips or salad)

Chicken (as above, slice a fillet and open up)

Beef Goulash (fab recipe in SW book, can bulk up with peppers)

Tikka Masala (need to syn any rice  or syn a pitta or poppadum)
