Hi all,
Thanks for the kind words, I'm pleased to say OH is on the mend now (he's making a SW friendly Spag boland is making me a cup of tea as I type) I had a crap nights sleep but tonight things should be back to normal.
I'm going to get back on the SW wagon properly tomorrow....actually today has been ok... sort of! I've had about 20 syns as I had a kitkat this morning then scoffed some cheese when I got home without really thinking. Oh well back on track tomorrow and I WILL get some weight off next week. I can feel it in my bones, or something lolThey have the internet on computers now?! - Homer Simpson

Northernlass, imo it doesn't fool you into thinking you've got a big dollop of luvverly real butter but it is better than nothing! There's a little recipe sheet inside with recipes for using the butterbuds for things like butter & lemon sauce, fudge, etc. I haven't tried them, I confess (I didn't find the recipe sheet until I was halfway down the pack actually
). Perhaps if a workmate or neighbour is going into town they could get you some?
(there might be some other views on these pages, I'm about to read them myself! http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&cr=countryUK%7CcountryGB&q=%22butter+buds%22&start=0&sa=N):jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

Butter buds are lovely and my consultant said they were 1/2 syn too!
 Back to my foul mood... I put on 1.5lbs this week! Couldn't believe it. I had my syns in the first part of the week but pulled it together the last couple of days to end on 69.5 syns in the week and I am certain I have counted everything.
Only thing I can think of is for the first time since I re-joined I had a cheat night last WI night (tues) but even that was 20 syns (being overly cautious, I actually think 16-18) so well under the 105 you're allowed at 15 syns a day. If I'd have maintained or lonly lost 0.5 lbs I would think okaaay, thats a bit unfortunate but to put on!
I wonder if my piggy portion sizes are to blame; I have eaten a lot!0 -
Hey guys,
Wondering if you can shed some light on the following.
My sister has recently join SW as well and goes to a diff class than me as we live about 30 miles appart. My consultant has always said with your syns, if you dont use them you loose them and that they can not and should not be carried over from one day to the next. My sisters consultant however tells her class that rather than looking at it as 15 syns per day you should look at it being 105 per week running from tues - tues (as their class is on a Tues).
She advises that by doing this you can use all you unused syns and 'treat' yourself at the weekend, however on monday night whatever syns you havent used for that week are then lost.
Would appreciate your views, what does your consultant say?
Thanks x x:j Norn Iron Club Member No. 343 :j0 -
Hi sparky40
My consultant advised that you should use 5 to 15 a day and not bank them up on a regular basis. My friend asked about this as when she was on weight watchers she used to bank her points up for say a night out, but again she was advised to try and evenly spread syns over the week.0 -
My old consultant used to tell us it was not advisable to save your syns as thats what flexi syns are for but if working backwards worked for you then go for it, so one day you could only eat 7 syns and that would leave you with 98 for the rest of the week. It works for me, everyone is different and your body will let you know what it prefers.DFW red and green memberDoing my best to lose weight and save money0

Oh how awful, i hate it when that happens but then i look back and try to work out why?? could it be you have had more of a certain food this week and your body doesnt like it? could it be you had a so so week the week before as it could have cought up with you, i prefer to work on a 2 week cycle as i believe you get a truer result. have you done more excersise could you be holding water, i do after eating to many carbs.
The main thing is not to let it get you down too much and carry on doing what you are doing, you obviously know the plan and know it works. Chin up.DFW red and green memberDoing my best to lose weight and save money0 -
Once again thank you to everyone for your support, it really has helped.
Had a rotten day but stuck to my diet as ever.
angie, in reply to the question about FF: Yse last week she sat down with me and went through the FF but I backed out when she said absolutly nothing off the sheet must be eaten.
As it was Valentines day last week I chose not to take her up on the offer, knowing that for once I wouldn't be that strict.
I would have re-considered if Valentines hadn't fallen in the week and may have taken it up this week had I gone to class.
I stuck instead to the 7 day plan in this months magazine ........................ and still stayed the same!
Valentines day I cooked the lamb shank recipe (online) and the rhubarb crumble (with yog) from the same mag.
Very nice meal, even if I spent far to long in the kitchen.
Another long wait till next week when I see my GP.
I will explore the idea about trying a wheat free diet see if that helps.
Thanks again to all you kind people for the support to keep me going.

I am still able to send you the details of FF if you fancy itbut only if it is something you want to try.
Clearly, your meds are causing real problems for you - you spoke ages back of having your meds reviewed, has this happened yet? Maybe at that review it will be worth mentioning your weight loss problems also.
I don't know what to suggest - you are sticking to plan and not getting anywhere - either a week off, or a week full on (FF).... <big hugs> from me.
However, one really positive thing to say amidst this is that your 'sticking power' and commitment are fantastic :T ... I can only imagine that these meds would have caused big weight gains had you not been on SW...We are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars........................0 -
obviously no one wants to help me as no one replyed to my post yesterday0

broke22 - we do want to help but its long winded and I'm sorry I haven't had time to type it all out.
You will find it extremely difficult to do it without the 'bible'
