That sounds nice Liz. Im still not back on plan til tomorrow, am thinking of trying extra easy. Thanks to everyone posting their menus, its made me actually want to get back on it as I enjoy it. i just had to eat all the after eights and boxes of choccies first.
Who is all doing extra easy? Can I ask are you mixing each day with red etc? I know you can, but I was wondering if anyone is just doing EE everyday to see how it works. Someone on the DFW board said their consultant gained doing EEim scared to try it as it sounds great, but ive put on at least 3 lbs over xmas, and probably more now.

If you are concentrating on green days, that's half the information 'gone' you don't need to learn about.
Basically, you can have anything, in unlimited amounts listed under 'green' in your uncle's book and then 2 of the 'Healthy Extra B' choices (heb) and 1 or 2 of the 'Healthy Extra A' (hea) choices. After that, anything else has a 'syn' value.
There are some gret pocket sized books you can get from class or ebay which list syn free branded products and there is also a book called low syn snacks (I think it is still called that) which is great when you are in the supermarket.
Oh thats great dont sound too hard now i've spoke to some people
thanks for the tip i'll have a look on ebay see wat i can find!!!

Chaos_Theory wrote: »Then you are another green day only person like me. It makes it so much easier. Just look at what can be HEs on a green day. If you won't be using them for meat or fish then you are really talking about HEAs being dairy products (milk and cheese) and HEBs being bread and cereals mainly (but you could have nuts etc). You get 1 or 2 As and 2 Bs. I use mine as bread and cheese for lunchtime sandwiches or crispbreads and breakfast cereal and milk. You have to weigh them though unless you use something like laughing cow triangles and crispbreads as they aren't free. For example, Looking at an old food diary I had:
Breakfast: 2 weetabix (1 HEB) and skimmed milk (1HEA) and the rest of the milk in tea.
Lunch: 4 ryvita original (1HEB) and 5 laughing cow lights (1HEA) with celery, cucumber, carrot and tomato (free food).
Dinner: (had to be free food as all my HEs were used up) Pasta in a homemade tomato sauce using onion, tinned tomatoes, red pepper, quorn mince, worcester sauce (veggie one) and balsamic vinegar
That left my syns (I have 10ish a day) to have on 2 small glasses of wine. You might prefer chocolate or crisps though!
Oh thats great thank you that really helps makes a bit more sense now!!
i hope u don't mind but i've printed off your diary as guide.

Evening all - Ive just had the nicest tea all made by my own fair hand - which is a massive thing for me considering a year ago I considered putting something in the microwave as cooking!
Anyways used my new steamer that my team at work bought me to do some rice and had that with syn free sausages (our local butcher sells them and they are yummy!), onions, mushrooms, garlic, tinned toms and seasoning. It was lovely and even the kids ate it!
I am following extra easy for a couple of weeks to see how it goes.
Hope everyone is ok x x
Edit - Hi Sea shel - welcome to SW x x x
thank you xx0 -
liz3yy- do you have a recipe for your quorn curry please?

Hi there, I found the quorn curry recipe in an SW magazine, its easy to make:
Fry some finely chopped onion and crushed garlic in frylight till soft then add a handful of chopped mushrooms and a sliced red pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes then add a packet of quorn pieces and two tins of chopped tomatoes and a spoonful of medium curry powder. I simmer the mixture its reduced and thickened and then add a spoonful of fromage frai once its taken off the heat.
I serve this with boiled rice, it's yummy and usually theres enough left over for lunch the following dayThey have the internet on computers now?! - Homer Simpson
It's always better to be late in this life, than early in the next0 -
I have been looking on ebay at some of the SW books and was just wondering do any of you find them useful? or is the website helpful enough regarding syns/recipe ideas etc I wasnt sure if they were a bit of a waste of money or not.
If anyone has one that they think is great would appreciate you posting the name of it on here so I can look it up!
Many thanks! x x x:j Norn Iron Club Member No. 343 :j0 -
Hello all
I am sitting here feeling pretty awful - I have a throat infection, and it is making me feel pants. Everything I eat feels like razor blades and has absolutely no flavour at all. As you can imagine - the past 36 hours have been a bit of a disaster SW wise..
ho hum
Green day today:
B - skippedwe wern't at home, and my choice was limited to chocolate weetos, so I didn't bother - I had an extra cuppa using milk from my A allowance, but this is a one off - I don't miss meals often!
L - toast (B) and beans and fried eggs. tasted of nothing and felt like razors. i am lacking enthusiasm today.
D will be lots of sw chips, grilled breaded haddock (B+5 syns) and mushy peas. I have a COU mouse (either choc or lemon 4 syns) if I feel like it later... at least mousse won't hurt to eat!
lets hope that normal service will be resumed shortly....:o0 -
Just done the week's shop and stocked up with Quorn, fruit, veg and baked beans! :j Seriously can't wait to get to class tomorrow night and get re-started but we've still got lots of naughty things in the house. Might give most of it to OH to take to work but save a few bits for when I really need it. Going to stick with red/green for my first week back as I know it works, then I'll try a few days of EE the following week. Bought some beef mince for the first time in years in preparation for EE though I think we'll both still prefer Quorn for currys and chilli's!
Sparky - if you like currys and all the associated bits (bhaji's/samosas etc) then the Curry Feast book is good. Other than that I use a normal receipe book and just amend to the SW way!0
