  • I don't know how much I have to lose - about half my current body weight I would expect. Penguin - that sounds like a very good way of looking at it... I actually hope they weigh in kgs cos I don't understand them!
    Penny - thanks for the idea I think I will try & get there early, its only just down the road from me so it won't be difficult to get there early.

    Thanks! I already know what I'm going to eat tomorrow and it's healthy stuff and no syns! lol

    I'm going to back to class next Wednesday and start paying the weekly fee again so yes I think that will help keep me on the straight and narrow.

    Still waiting for dinner as we got home late from shopping!

    Duck with roast pots and roasted veg (butternut squash, sweet potato, carrots, shallots & parsnips!) drooling already! Looking forward this year to being more adventurous with unknown veg :rotfl:

    Six years this week (with a few gaps ;) ) since I began Slimming World - bring it on! :grin:

    Hi

    I'm a newbie here - going to my first meeting on tuesday and I'm scared!! I need to lose a LOT of weight and I'm just nervous about walking in to see a bunch of strangers and finding out how much I weigh (I have no idea).

    you will feel a bit self concious for a few weeks but after a while you feel right at home and you start to enjoy the social aspect and remember you are with like minded folk all in the same boat :D

    Then you are another green day only person like me. It makes it so much easier. Just look at what can be HEs on a green day. If you won't be using them for meat or fish then you are really talking about HEAs being dairy products (milk and cheese) and HEBs being bread and cereals mainly (but you could have nuts etc). You get 1 or 2 As and 2 Bs. I use mine as bread and cheese for lunchtime sandwiches or crispbreads and breakfast cereal and milk. You have to weigh them though unless you use something like laughing cow triangles and crispbreads as they aren't free. For example, Looking at an old food diary I had:

    Breakfast: 2 weetabix (1 HEB) and skimmed milk (1HEA) and the rest of the milk in tea.

    Lunch: 4 ryvita original (1HEB) and 5 laughing cow lights (1HEA) with celery, cucumber, carrot and tomato (free food).

    Dinner: (had to be free food as all my HEs were used up) Pasta in a homemade tomato sauce using onion, tinned tomatoes, red pepper, quorn mince, worcester sauce (veggie one) and balsamic vinegar

    That left my syns (I have 10ish a day) to have on 2 small glasses of wine. You might prefer chocolate or crisps though!

I've been in the past but always fallen by the wayside after a few weeks, but I can't afford to do it this time.........I think I've got about 7 stone to lose (hangs head in despair).

    I'm looking forward to becoming a regular on this board.
