the layered muller lights aren't usually free

sea shel - I thought that at 1st but after a few weeks (if you're a bit slow like me ;)) it's no longer complex - stick with it - if you follow the plan you will loose - simple as that - welcome to the world of SW - oh and to give an indication - I started Early April last year and by 23 Dec - I'd lost 3 stone :j:j

thats really good i hope i do that well if i ever understand it that is!! and with this new plan everyone's talking about it may take me a while.

    Hello all!!!

I hope you all don't mind me joining your thread but i'm going to my first class monday as its really about time i got rid of this weight as i have been putting it off for nearly a year now

and i'm gonna need some big time support or i'll never do it :(

i've been looking at my uncles book and it looks really complicated.

    shel

You are most welcome, sea shel. You'll find oodles of support here!

It's not complicated at all really once you get your head round the ideas of red, green (I'd get used to those before exploring the other plans) hea, heb and syns. Basically, you have free food, healthy extra/s and the rest is syns ;) If you have any questions there's loads of people here who will be able to help.

    hi sea shel

If you are concentrating on green days, that's half the information 'gone' you don't need to learn about. ;)

Basically, you can have anything, in unlimited amounts listed under 'green' in your uncle's book and then 2 of the 'Healthy Extra B' choices (heb) and 1 or 2 of the 'Healthy Extra A' (hea) choices. After that, anything else has a 'syn' value.

There are some gret pocket sized books you can get from class or ebay which list syn free branded products and there is also a book called low syn snacks (I think it is still called that) which is great when you are in the supermarket.

  • Then you are another green day only person like me. It makes it so much easier. Just look at what can be HEs on a green day. If you won't be using them for meat or fish then you are really talking about HEAs being dairy products (milk and cheese) and HEBs being bread and cereals mainly (but you could have nuts etc). You get 1 or 2 As and 2 Bs. I use mine as bread and cheese for lunchtime sandwiches or crispbreads and breakfast cereal and milk. You have to weigh them though unless you use something like laughing cow triangles and crispbreads as they aren't free. For example, Looking at an old food diary I had:

Breakfast: 2 weetabix (1 HEB) and skimmed milk (1HEA) and the rest of the milk in tea.

Lunch: 4 ryvita original (1HEB) and 5 laughing cow lights (1HEA) with celery, cucumber, carrot and tomato (free food).

Dinner: (had to be free food as all my HEs were used up) Pasta in a homemade tomato sauce using onion, tinned tomatoes, red pepper, quorn mince, worcester sauce (veggie one) and balsamic vinegar

That left my syns (I have 10ish a day) to have on 2 small glasses of wine. You might prefer chocolate or crisps though!

I am still really poorly with my siatica got an appointment with a spinal consultant in 2 weeks so hope they can sort me out.....have been ordered to lay on the floor as much as possible so been feeling down and bored.:(

Well the diet has gone out of the window a bit as the painkillers i am on do take away my appetite....have been eating loads of clementines and bananas though and had a few chocolate bars so am hoping i have not gained, even though my movement is restricted. I am determined to get to WI on monday as i missed my last one as i could not even walk!

On monday gonna see it as a new start and might even buy myself a countdown to give me extra motivation. I have cheered myself up reading everyones posts so keep up the good work everybody....and i am avaliable as a BUDDY if anyone wants one as i still have about 5st to lose!

  • Hi all, well, I am back home after the night out at the friends house, and it was as delicious, but non-SW friendly as I suspected... starter was stilton soup, main was roast venison on parsnip pancakes with roasted root veg (no frylight in sight :rotfl: ) desert was baked alaska with a boozy cherry filling, all washed down by lots of fab wine and champagne... :p

Ho hum, I started today well, following extra easy today

B wm toast, (HB) fruit, tea (HA)

L - at 'Eat' Roast Pumpkin soup (less than 5% fat), apple and water

D will be flattened roast chicken with indian spices, new potatoes and watercress and spinach salad. Bottle of wine (shared with DH, 12 sins each).

Today DH ventured into M&S and picked up some count on us chocolate mousses and COU lemon mousses... I may well resist, but does anyone know there value?
