Northernlass Im gladd you have found us here I was on the DFW (Debt Free Wannabe - for lo-bush ;) ) Red/Green thread too and remember you from then. I did the same as you, stopped and put loads on but since starting again in October I lost just over a stone and started attending class again a few weeks ago and am still losing :T .
It is easier when you have a class to go to (for me anyway) but i get more ideas and support from this thread and these wonderful people than I do at class (even though its a great class).
p.s. glad to see you are from a beautiful part of the world too :)

    First goal weight - 11st 13lbs

    Current weight - 12st 6lbs
  • I weighed in last Thursday and last 1 pound. But I had a really bad day at work (stopped smoking) and it had really got to me that day. So I brought my self a M/S pizza on the way home. No matter what I was having Pizza and I thought if I’m going to eat it let it be a shop brought one instead of a Pizza Hut takeaway one. I then shared it with my mum and had chips as well with cheese and beans and then a cake to top it off after. Friday I was good and the this weekend I have been binge eating.

So now I’m back on the diet today. I don’t personally like the EE Plan I’m eating very well on it and its easy to go out for meals and plan meals and things for it but I only lost a pound in two weeks on it and I was 99% good. So this week I’m trying the Mix and Match plan which I prefer don’t expect ot lose anything this week as my weekend was a disaster but hopefully I won’t put on too much

Afternoon all, I'm enjoying a day off watching Bond films with my OH!

I'm having an EE day today -

B - weetabix and weight watchers yoghurt plus cup of black tea
L - Cous cous omelette, I had left over cous cous from yesterdays lunch so I had the idea of mixing a couple of beaten eggs in with it and then cooking under the grill, it was lovely!
D - Salmon and noodles with stir fry veg

Not sure about syns yet, I had a handful of the new Walkers Squirrel crisps earlier which were a bit odd to be honest!

Does anyone know what I can do with cabbage thats on the way out and bananas that are a little past their best? I did see a banana cheesecake recipe on the SW website but I cant find it now!

I havent had time to catch up on posts but just wanted to pop on quickly to say that I am feeling much more positive today. I am not looking forward to weigh in tonight and would if I could sit in on the image therapy with a brown bag over my head :rotfl:

I have worked out what I am going to say to my consultant i.e. its been a stressful couple of weeks for me - in other words, Ive lost the plot and stuffed my face !

I also dont think Extra Easy works for me so I am going back to Red/Green days (today Im having mix to match - menu below).

Ive drawn up my Tesco order which is HUGE and includes loads of superfree foods, fruit, veg, tofu (to try!), stir fry veg bits etc. Some fat free vinagrette dressings to try also. so a really healthy shop for once! Plus plenty of mullerlight vanilla choc sprinkle yogurts and also some greek 0% yogurts :D oh and 4 boxes of alpen light choc fudge :j

    so menu for today:

Breakfast: (neutral) Toffee and pecan alpen light bar (HEB)
Lunch (RED): 3 slices of weight watchers malted danish bread HEB spread with 2 Extra Light Laughing cow trianges (syns) and chopped up steak with some sweet chilli sauce (15ml = 1.5 syns).

    Tea (GREEN) (after weigh in)
Jacket spuds and stagg silverdale chilli (4.5 syns). 42g low fat grated cheese (HEA) more sweet chilli sauce (15ml = 1.5 syns)

Black coffee/ Tea - (Milk from HEA)

    Treat
    Greek 0% yogurt (free)
    and defrosted blueberries (free)
    meringue nest (2.5 syns)

Ewwww just had a jacket potato with cottage cheese, but the cottage cheese has taken up the very distinct smell of the fridge, and it's not a good smell believe me!! Had plain jacket in the end :(
Went to the gym this morning :j but I don't know if I like going in the morning, I felt dead by the time I had to go to my first lecture, better to go in the evening methinks and come back to a good meal.

Sorry if it's a daft Question but what is DFW SW? The SW I get ( Slimming World)

The Debt Free Wannabee Sliming World thread.

The thread was set up a lonnnnnnnnng time ago and is a mixture of regulars and people on DFW popping by who want to do SW and have the support of each other but can't afford the class fees or are regulars on the DFW board and want to lose weight alongside their friends. A few do go to class I think, but it's the familiarity of other DFW faces that gives the feel of a class. It's nowhere near as busy as this one as there are less people involved, but probably around half a dozen posts a day.

    I'm a thread tart...........I write on both now.......;) :D

PS - tofu, I love it, but it is at its best if you stir fry it with soy (or similar) first as then it takes on that flavour. It has little flavour, but can be sensational in the right dish. You will either love it, or you won't get past the texture.

Good luck Angie!!! Come back here and report back though, won't you?

What is the texture of tofu like btw?
  • I love tofu, but my husband says it's like sponge! It's got a certain rubbery, spongey quality, I'll admit!
