I've not had a good day food wise :(

I've been very bored at work as very few people were in due to the snow, I've been snacking on biscuits and birthday cake all day and now feel really bad and bloated.

I'm finding it hard to stick to SW whilst on a budget, I need help to create tasty things to eat that are cheap at the same time.

    Please help!

It can be cheap enough to follow the plan.

I go to Asda late on (about 7.30 ish) and get the whoopsies - salads, fruit and fruit salads, stir frys etc.

Or you can find stuff you like to eat and batch cook it, like soups and stews that are SW friendly.

Keep an eye out for offers on things you eat often - quorn or mince and stock up or freeze it.

I quite often make a big pan of whatever it is (bolognaise / pasta bake) and share it out into 4 tubs so that I can freeze it - this also helps if you come in form work starving and can't be bothered to cook - just bung it in the microwave.

I know buying lots of fresh fruit and veg can be expensive but I spend less than I did when i was buying rubbish food. Takeaways. chocolate bars etc. all add up and cost a fortune.

Thanks very much, this all should be common sense really but today I panicked a bit as I always get really hungry when it's cold and knew we didnt have much food in that I could take to work. It sounds awful but my heart leapt when I realised that it was someones birthday today and they have bought cake in.

Right, how does this sound for tomorrows meal plan:

B - grilled bacon, scrambled egg and poached mushrooms plus toast
L - Jacket spud with cheese and baked beans
D - Mushroom and pepper omlette

I'll also have a couple of apples and a banana

That sound ok for a green day? anything else I can do?

Hmmm no class for me tonight as its cancelled. consultant snowed in

Glad to be in the warm though and that my tea is cooking now rather than eating at 8.30pm this evening but was hoping the new mag might be out and was keen to discover how my eating all the wrong things over the weekend had impacted on my weight !

Its been nice having a few treats but at the same time Ive missed following the plan so will be glad to get properly back on track tomorrow :D

    Hope everyone is well. :j

I hate my slimming world group. the woman is absolutely useless and made me feel about this big >> . for putting on a bit of weight, despite me saying i was fine with it and I had genuinely expected it. I've just swapped groups because I moved house and it's too far to go to my old one (which was awesome). I've just got home and want to eat myself into a stupor. Or go to Nando's. I think I will do the latter.

The best I advice I can give is to bulk out expensive things with cheaper things. Tonight, for example I had Quorn mince, which is ridiculously expensive. So I put in a tiny tiny bit, and then had tomatos, mushrooms, carrots, peas and sweetcorn and I had to throw some away in the end!
Also, if you find you don't use whole vegetables (eg buy a carrot, then waste most of it) go frozen, FarmFoods do diced carrot and it is seriously good! £1 for a bag that will last a long long time, and it means you can easily bulk things out if it is ready there and chopped.
  • blip for me this week as I gained 1lb.... ho hum, kinda expected it after the weekend, just throws my valentines challenge a bit sideways!:rotfl: :rotfl:

So, gotta try to lose 3.5lb this week (which I have never done before other than FF when I lost 6 lb).. so I need a plan. A darn good plan....

I shall menu plan as much of the week ahead as poss this evening (no time like the present  ) and stick to it like glue! I am trying to do this *without* the aid of FF (which did work before), but I want to keep this off, so filling up on superfree and using my healthy extras here I come...:T :T :T

What is FF if you don't mind me asking?

Also, do you find your weightloss is better if you have used all your HEs?
