Hi all, OK Catt, your turn to say I told you so .....................I lost 2.5lbs :j :j, So that takes my total to 4st 1lb, I'm so so pleased with myself, thats a really good loss for me. Ok, so now it's head down, nose to the grindstone etc.etc. to really get this weightloss moving.

Just a quick heads up at Asda this morning the 8 packs of fat free activia yoghurts (these are still syn free aren't they?) were on offer at £2.98 each 8pk or 2 x 8pks for £3.00. The 6pk Mullers are still on offer at £1.50 too.
Also I noticed on the way in posters for a 'new' fat free Asda branded yoghurt at 3 for £1, although I couldn't see any instore, just wondered if anyone has tried these, if they are any good and if they are syn free? They might be a cheaper substitute when the current round of offers end.

I just bought a Slimming World book, and I'm trying to figure out how it all works. There are some breakfast lunch and dinner choices in it, and I was wondering if you choose one of each, plus sins, plus free stuff. Or, is it free stuff plus sins, plus daily allowances? If someone could fill me in on the daily allowances eg: milk, bread etc, that would be much appreciated.

    Which book did you buy?

You have lots of free foods, then you have your measured/weighed Healthy Extras then 5 - 15 syns per day.
Healthy A's are milk & cheese
Healthy B's are cereals, cooked/pureed/canned fruit, bread, nuts etc
plus on a red day HEb's are potato's, pasta, parsnips, peas, broad beans etc
OR on a green day HEb's are meat/fish etc

You really need the 'Bible' (the book you get when you join a class) to explain this in full as there are hundreds of HE's and weights/measurements to go with them.

    Hello

Has anyone got a good recipe for a free/low white sauce that I can use to make fish pie tonight, please? I normally make it with l/f butter/flour/milk but I'm sure some experienced SW'r might have something that is OK on SW!

    Many thanks

Awww Catt, I feel for you , maybe it was the onset of this that made you feel so down. Perhaps your body has been so busy trying to fight off those grotty germs, it hasn't had time to lose weight too? Or perhaps it's trying to hold onto the fat for extra insulation against those bugs? Take care of yourself poppet, if you are wanting to eat all the time perhaps you should, as long as it's slimming world friendly, I see no reason that you shouldn't, your body probably needs that for fuel.

    SW Cheese Sauce for Lasagne

    400g vlf fromage frais
    110g quark
    1 egg (lightly beaten)
    pinch nutmeg, salt and pepper

    mix together until smooth.

Courtesy of someone on here - I forget - sorry!

Possibly to amend for fish pie? Parsley and or lemon instead of nutmeg?

I got the food optimizing book, as I'd heard SW works really well. From reading that and on here it seems like the perfect option, where you never go hungry!

An idea for a dip - add 1 oz blue cheese (Healthy extra) to a tub of quark. Whizz it together and leave it to stand for a bit for the flavour to mix/get stronger.

I think this is an SW recipe from a few years back.
