Thanks angie for your post, it's fab!

I've never ventured making soup, though I'd like to! :o

I had egg salad yesterday but I seem to be having LOADS of eggs - had egg and spaghetti for breakfast this morning (neutral/green day but couldn't think of anythng else to have with egg), mushroom omlette is today's lunch, fish chips & peas for dinner (will have more fruit as afters to make up for the lack of veg with dinner - didn't fancy the superfree cauli cheese dinner I had planned!)

How do you make the mushroom soup or a spicy asian one? I can't eat fennel as thats aniseed flavour isn't it? Would make me heave

great post Angie, I have struggled a bit with the food ideas so your list helps. I have seen my friend this morning and she has lost 3lb this week and doesnt attend a class. The weight seems to drop off her really fast , unlike me.

We have stir-fry quite a lot for dinner plus I wouldn't have time to cook it in the 30mins I have at home (aswell as eat it and run-round ding jobs!)

Think I might have to go back and do the fruit salad and yoghurt thing for brekkie. My Mum makes the fabbist fruit salads for me!

Having a real frustrated day - I HATE FOOD! (well thinking about it anyway!)
  • Mushroom and Thyme (or parsley) Soup

Soak 1oz dried mush in 1 pint boiling water for 10 mins.

soften a chopped onion and garlic clove in frylight. add 400g chopped mushrooms, stir fry for a few mins.

add a small bunch of thyme, 3/4 pint stock (veg or ckn), the chopped dried mushrooms, the soaking liquid.

Bring to boil then simmer about 45 mins.

leave as is or blitz, optional - add fromage frais or milk to make it 'creamier'

  • Hot and Sour Asian Soup

Heat 1 litre chicken bovril stock (not too strong), with juice and zest of a lime, 2 teaspoons nam pla (fish sauce), small green chilli (deseeded and chopped), zest of a lemon, small bunch coriander, 2 chopped shallots, 150g sliced mushrooms, medium bunch of spring onions.

Bring briefly to the boil, cook for 2 mins - serve

This is brilliant if you want to use it as a base - add chopped veg (mange tout, baby corn, green beans etc) or prawns or chicken (leftover roast is good) or noodles.

    thanks for reading,

I got out of the habit of eating between meals when my daughter (then age 2) was diagnosed with T1 diabetes which meant I never felt right eating when she couldn't. Even though she is at school now, I never got back into the habit....

You will probably find that eating plenty actually speeds your rate of loss because it should increase your metabolism - it ight also explain why mine has been slow.

Feel free to eat lots of superfree food, but only focus on it if you feel your loss needs a kick start - I am very nearly at target, so I am increasing these foods to help me there quickly!

Hi , I am on a EE day today and wondered if this would be ok ?

I make a sort of rice pudding with my milk allowance ,
basically I boil up some basmati rice in water , drain and add the milk and sweetner , nutmeg and fruits.

So I am using only my milk allowance.

Do you think this is allowed ?

    sorry for so many questions.
    Kindness costs nothing :)
