Stayed the same last Thursday but was a bit constipated too and did expect to lose and been busy all week.

BUT went for a colonic irrigation on Friday which was really good actually so maybe this week Ill have lost more than I expected to with doing decorating all weeked.

    xxp00

I did a mini colonic detox (3 sessions in 10 days) at the start of jan and it's the best thing I've ever done health wise!I (in my slim, healthy past) used to poo a couple of times a day but it had got to the point where I was taking laxatives to go after 3 days of nothing!I felt sick, bloated and nauseous all the time,no matter how much water I drank,or what I ate.It was truly awful,as was my skin.I had previously been complimented on my lovely youthful complexion, now I am getting the same compliments again. My skin is clear,my bowels are regular and my family are no longer threatening to leave home cos of my farts!!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl:

I wOuld highly recommend a course of colonics to anyone tht feels bunged up or bloated, etc.Worth every penny IMO.:D :p:p:p :T

Essentially,if you think it's important to keep your water pipes clean then give yourself the same courtesy:D ;) :j :j :j :A

  • Evening all - I am in a quandry... thought I'd share  ... hopefully I can explain this in a way you can understand... its all about targets..

I started SW back in April, and I have done well - slowly but well. As you can see from my sig, I have lost 1st 8.5lb, and as of last weigh in, I weighed 11stone exactly (I don't normally talk 'actual' weights, but I see no other way of explaining...)

Now, when I lost weight with WW (after DD 6+yrs ago), I got down to 10st, but in honesty, it was too slim :o and I found it impossible to maintain - so when I started with SW, I always imagined that I would set my target around the 10st 7lb stone mark...

As some of you know, I have fought for every pound of my loss, and whilst this is the lowest I have ever yet been with SW, it would be quite easy to say that I am at the weight my body is content with - but my mind is not yet content - another 6 or 7lb (ish) loss would make me happier 'inside' :o

I need to call target soon - I have had enough of trying to lose weight and losing very very slowly, I actually want to start maintaining - lots of people assume I am at or near target - I am fitting clothes that make me look quite slim (but just another few pounds would make a big difference) - paying for class is becoming a bit of a problem, and also with big travel plans this summer, I need to be a target member as to avoid mega back fees....

    So.... do I:

    1. call an interim target this week - not at the weight I want to be long term - probably at 10st 13/13.5, knowing that I have a mega lifestyle change coming up (moving house in July, requiring 30min each way school run ie 2 hours per day cycling minimum) and could aim to restart the plan and shift the additional 7lb through a combination of SW and exercise in the summer...

    or do I ..

    2. battle on for the next few weeks (as long as I can bear), get as low as possible (maybe reaching 10st 9/10??) but then work on maintaining this weight - a bit higher than I would (ideally) like, but getting on with it and accepting what I am... knowing that a further 7lb off is not realistic, so knowing that whatever I call as target I would have to be content with.

:o or in other words, how do you know you hit target when you have no idea of a weight in mind. How do you stop and be happy with where you are....

Angie, all I would say i this:when you put your favourite clothes on and look in the mirror, how do you feel?

If the answer is 'good' or 'slim' or even just 'ok',then I would put your target 3 lbs from where you are now so you still have something to aim for,but a realistic target too.

If the answer is that you still feel unhappy with your size,or shape then I would suggest a gym regime to firm up!Often we feel that if we lose more weight we will be slimmer but that is mostly not the case!No one firms up their abs or inner thighs from diet alone:p :D

I know that when I was skinny ( long time ago, over a year, and felt fat and flabby at the time) that I always thought I needed to lose weight, when now I realise all I needed to do was get on the toning tables!

Ultimately, only you know how you feel.People may tell you look good and they are not lying, but only you live with your body, therefore only you can decide when you are truly happy with it:T :T :T :T

Btw,calling your weight target as it now (complete with regular compliments and sensible control on your part) and cycling often and regularly sounds perfect for maintaining your weight and burning any flabby bits that may still bother you.I would suggest that you exercise (apart from your body!!!!) the same patience and dedication to getting toned and fit,as you have to losing weight and getting slim.I really think you are in the habit now,and an hour cycling daily would improve your shape, shave off a few inches and maintain your weight easily.

You've worked so hard Angie,I think it's time to say 'good enough' IS GOOD ENOUGH?

    Best of luck,whatever you decide:D :D:D:D :A

I think (and it's just my opinion) that if you are not happy with the rate of your weight loss and getting disheartened, it will have an effect on your loss. I find that if I set myself a specific target and have a week where I don't lose much, I get a bit down and struggle to get myself pulled back round.

As for the cost of classes, have you ever considered going it alone? I know lots of people say they rely on the support of the other group members, but surely you have that here! Then there is only yourself to please.

As I see it, in your heart of hearts, you can't be at a weight you want to be, or you wouldn't be questioning it. I think the advice everyone else has given is spot on, but the only person who can make the decision is YOU!

    Good luck, whatever you choose!

    Hi angie :D

Your post touched a nerve with me because I am having exactly the same argument with myself at the moment.

Im unfortunately at work but will log on tonight to post a reply about my decision and why I made it, my reasoning behind it etc.

for the moment though, option 1 is what I would suggest you go for. will post more later.

    Thanks Alison.. :A

I think one of the things I am looking forward to about maintaining is still attending class as a target member - I have built a good group of people around me, and I want to continue to be there for them (as well as keeping me on the straight and narrow)! Also, I am in the early stages of (probably) becoming a consultant, so going it alone isn't the best option for me :D ...and... just from experience of being at target with WW, when I started to do it myself, I know that everything creeps back, slowly at first, but I don't want to have to do this all over again in three years :rotfl:

As you say, I am not really at the weight I want to be... (although I am well aware that I am getting darn close) I guess the dilema for me is to whether call an interim target now, and commit to finishing the job when my exercise and lifestyle change in the summer, or to just knuckle down for a few more weeks/months and then call a final target probably not as low as I always thought I was aiming for....

Have a good day at work FE..

Looking at your sig - we are indeed having the same dilemma (sp?) ... 1/2 a stone to go - if we call an interim target now, we can always finish off the job later when our bodies/attitude/energy/exercise/time of year etc etc are on our side...

... and in my case (I can't speak for you of course  ) I might decide that I quite like myself in this skin (whatever the scales say), and be happy with where I am and not bother about the extra bit later... I just don't want to look back and feel like I sold myself short of what I was capable of..:o

aww thanks magic - what SW day are you on? I used to suffer terribly also (mirena has put a stop to all that lark for me :D ) and so you have my full sympathy...

if you are after choc and big macs, would a hot chocolate and hm burger for lunch hit the spot? or a huge plate of sw chips with HA of cheese grated over...?

Definately rest while DS rests - you are going to need all the energy you can muster :T

    Gosh this thread moves fast:D

Angie - I would call an interim target, it will save you money:money: and you can always adjust it in a couple of months if you want.

I once got down to 8st12 with WW  I was FAR too thin but I did maintain it for 2 years! I'll be happy at 10and a half now:D but ecstatic if I could get down to 10st:j

    Yesterday went to plan :T

Today B: Boiled eggs and 2sl WW bread
L: Couscous and chick pea salad, melon
    D: HM Shepherdess pie, yoghurt

I'll have my HEA&B for supper, last night I had 2 Alpen light bars and a cup of warm soya milk with a sprinkle of nutmeg - YUM! Might have that again tonight.
