Thinking about pizzas...
... I saw there was only 263Kcal in half a Pizza Express shop-bought margherita pizza so decided to plug it into the syns calculator...
... it's 13 syns for half a pizza.
I don't think that's bad when a mini Napolina pizza base has 11 syns. And if you were cheeky and decided that the cheese was a HEa...
I think my post WI-treat tomorrow may be a Pizza Express loaded with free meats along with a pile of SW chips0 -
Evening all - I am in a quandry... thought I'd share  ... hopefully I can explain this in a way you can understand... its all about targets..
I started SW back in April, and I have done well - slowly but well. As you can see from my sig, I have lost 1st 8.5lb, and as of last weigh in, I weighed 11stone exactly (I don't normally talk 'actual' weights, but I see no other way of explaining...)
Now, when I lost weight with WW (after DD 6+yrs ago), I got down to 10st, but in honesty, it was too slimand I found it impossible to maintain - so when I started with SW, I always imagined that I would set my target around the 10st 7lb stone mark...
As some of you know, I have fought for every pound of my loss, and whilst this is the lowest I have ever yet been with SW, it would be quite easy to say that I am at the weight my body is content with - but my mind is not yet content - another 6 or 7lb (ish) loss would make me happier 'inside'
I need to call target soon - I have had enough of trying to lose weight and losing very very slowly, I actually want to start maintaining - lots of people assume I am at or near target - I am fitting clothes that make me look quite slim (but just another few pounds would make a big difference) - paying for class is becoming a bit of a problem, and also with big travel plans this summer, I need to be a target member as to avoid mega back fees....
So.... do I:
1. call an interim target this week - not at the weight I want to be long term - probably at 10st 13/13.5, knowing that I have a mega lifestyle change coming up (moving house in July, requiring 30min each way school run ie 2 hours per day cycling minimum) and could aim to restart the plan and shift the additional 7lb through a combination of SW and exercise in the summer...
or do I ..
2. battle on for the next few weeks (as long as I can bear), get as low as possible (maybe reaching 10st 9/10??) but then work on maintaining this weight - a bit higher than I would (ideally) like, but getting on with it and accepting what I am... knowing that a further 7lb off is not realistic, so knowing that whatever I call as target I would have to be content with.or in other words, how do you know you hit target when you have no idea of a weight in mind. How do you stop and be happy with where you are....

About 14 years ago I was going to WW and lost weight, I was well within the target weight zone. However, I really wanted to get to 9st, like you say it's how you feel inside. I got down to 9st 3lb, at one stage 9st 1lb, months & months went by, i was still paying the weekly fees but I NEVER ever got down to my 9st target. I could have saved a lot of cash by accepting that i was a few pounds more.
If you are in the acceptable weight range why keep paying out? nothing to stop you losing a few more pounds even then.
BTW I'd be thrilled to be 9st anything now!0 -
thanks tia, that really resonates with me... if I am not careful this could go on and on and on, and I will never stop paying the weekly fees.... but since I am only allowed to stay a target member if I keep my weight 3lb either side of the target I choose, I guess I want to be sure that I will be happy to stay within that range..
I think I am worried that if I keep going for a few weeks, and maybe lose a bit more, but not much more, I will have gone to low to later aim for a further 7lb. In other words, I really don't know whether to call target now and grab the 7lb later, or keep going just for a bit and find a peace whatever weight I find myself at...0 -
Hello Angie:D You know we have the same probs, but from where I'm sitting, 11 stones sounds FAB!;)
I really think that the most important thing is how you feel. Not what a ticket in a garment says or what your scales say really. That might sound rich, coming from me but I DO have another couple of stones to lose on top of you!Do you feel healthy? Are you enjoying your food? Can you buy the clothes you like? Do you feel good in them? Would you say your weight is within the "normal" range for your height?
Sounds as if you have a lot going on in the near future so maybe this would be a good time to say you're happy with being 11 stones.
You've done really well Angie :T because they say it's harder to lose weight if you don't have so much to lose in the first place. The bigger you are the quicker it's supposed to come off. I think I am the exception to that rule BTW!!:rotfl: :rotfl:
I know loads of people who've spent a lifetime dieting and worrying about their weight when really they looked OK. They look back at old photos and marvel at how slender they looked compared to now, yet they were worrying back then.0 -
Thanks Penny -
maybe I do just need to hit myself firmly over the head and be happy (for a change!).. I lost 3st on my own before even attending my first SW class, so overall, I have lost 4st 8 this journey... maybe I am just finding it hard to know when to stop.
I want to stop, I am about right to stop, I just thought I wanted a bit more.... do you know what I mean? I don't want to look back and think 'blimey girl, if you had held on for just a few more weeks you could have been what you always dreamed of....'
It is probably just me being self indulgent, but I spend so much time looking after everyone else, that following SW has been a time to focus on my needs... maybe I need to consider whether I am ready for that to change... (gosh this has got deep suddenly!)0
