I'm really feeling low tonight and feel like I'm never going to shift any more weight.
I haven't tried Sucess express because it includes carbs, a no-no for my condition.
I've never heard of 'Fast forward', what is it??
Our group leader says that she'll write me a personal plan next week if I haven't lost (my scales say I haven't) but I can't see that it will work any better than the plans I do, but its worth a go.
LL
I am very sorry you are feeling so low. Its a horrible place..
success express doesn't have to include carbs... if you are sticking wholly to red day principles, then it simply means that 2/3 of each and every plate of food is superfree food - this alone reduces your calorie intake every meal - the final third could be free on red (and/or green).
do you cut out *all* carbs... simple sugars (choc, fruit, alcohol etc) etc, or only starchy carbs like lentils, oats, beans, bread etc? (just trying to know so that we can help - sorry if being nosy)
Fast forward is a 'last ditch' plan that you can only get from your consultant. It allocates you 'units' and you choose how to spend you daily units from its meal lists. It is quite restrictive, and as you have some dietary restrictions could be even more so... but that said, it worked for me (for a week as a kick start and motivation booster) You might find the 'personal plan' that your consultant has mentioned maybe something along these lines....might be worth asking anyhow..0 -
I guess that is what she's thinking of then, the fast forward thing.
I cut out all starchy carbs. Today I've been going up the wall for bread, potatos, rice and pasta.
In hindsight maybe I should have given in and I wouldn't be feeling as ropey as I do now???
I'm going to weigh heavy again this week anyhow, so should have enjoyed some carbs.
Trouble is I know this is a great diet, its my body mucking about at the moment.
I'm sick of it running my life and not losing weight.
I could cope if I was losing and it was running my life, if that makes sense??

I don't think we've spoken before but I am just like you. If you check some of my posts in the last few days you'll see. I've been going to SW nearly 10 months and I haven't lost 2 stones yet, so you're not alone.
Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled to have lost that much and I really have learnt an awful lot at SW but I'm also feeling that I'm not getting much for my £4.50!! If I do something, I do it 100% (sounds like you do too) so, I'd never pay to go, get weighed and come out again. I like to take an active part. I always stay to the chat, I always make nice stuff for the taster evenings & I swap recipes etc. So there's no way I'd pay to go and then come home and eat chips, crisps and cakes!
I kid you not, at our group, some weeks I want to go  when people keep going on about how they've eaten piles of rubbish and still lose a few pounds. I know that it catches up with them eventually but it doesn't make it easier listening to it!
I've just about decided that I'll either stop going for a few months and carry on doing it at home OR stop going and try an exercise class (maybe Rosemary Connelly) and see if that helps. Please stay in touch.0 -
Does any one know , if I boil some basmati rice (free) and mash it down a bit , will that turn into syns ?
I have just made the pancake with the boiled basmati rice ,
I used one egg "beatend" and sweetner then added the boiled rice so the mixture looked firm-ish, then fried in pan , flattening as it cooked , making sure I made small little pancakes ( cos they would break apart if bigger).
They turned out nice , my husband and daughter liked it ,
I topped mine with berries. My daughter said its like a pancake and rice pudding ,lol.
The whole thing about misusing food would come into play here I think. SW is all about healthy eating, not trying to 'get away' with using a food as a substitute for flour IYSWIM. Why not bite the bullet and use flour - it's between 4 and 5 syns per 28gms, well within your syn limit for the day!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Please don't 'starve' yourself - it's counter productive and your body will hang grimly on to every calorie. Hang on for another couple of weeks, drink lots of water, weigh/measure everything that you're supposed to weigh/measure and eat lots of free food (specially super-free).
If you think have followed the plan 100% and not lost weight I think you are probably doing something wrong. I have never known anyone not lose weight with SW and, in fact, you have a money-back guarantee in group if you don't lose.
Good luck
Lilac Lillie - an under active thyroid will make it much harder for you to lose weight, but you can still lose. If you're waiting to have your medication changed, I suggest you don't worry too much. Carry on eating healthily, have plenty of variety (especially with your HEs) and perhaps make sure you have lots of super-free foods with every meal (adding veg or fruit is easy and tasty).I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Hi Lillie. I'm sorry it's so frustrating for you at the moment. It's a horrible place to be in, feeling that you've no power to influence the changes you're trying to get at.
I really think your thyroid is playing a huge part in this - especially if you're waiting for a medication review. It sounds to me like if you weren't doing the plan you'd be in the position of most people with underactive thyroid dysfunction and piling on the pounds - just staying the same is a huge success if your thyroid is wonky!
And don't forget thyroid plays a huge part in mood. By that I'm not at all saying that you're feeling low because of your thyroid, but it could be feeding into the problem. Looking at the problem from an entirely different view... have you tried to boost your mood in different ways? I find I lose more weight when I'm happier(!) and there's also good research which shows that.
I'm thinking of practical things like a little bit of exercise to raise the endorphines, eating foods high in B3, B6 and a substance call tryptophan (bananas, spinach, cheese, chocolate) which is metabolised into a chemical which influences the receptors of the brain associated with mood, and having a look at whether you can challenge or find evidence against the sense of your diet not working and it being in control of your life. We know that feeling more satisfied with life increases our sense of being in control of things, and feeling in control of things increases our success at meeting our goals, so.... I always start with how I'm feeling in myself and let it filter through to my dieting habits.
I don't know if that's helpful or not - it's been helpful for me, but I'm not you, so I'm aware I'm probably over-generalising!
EDIT: link to evidence-based information on mood and food, for anyone interested: http://www.mentalhealth.org.uk/campaigns/food-and-mental-health/0 -
If Id had known it was a money back guarantee I would of asked for my money back lol.
Lillie , You are not alone in the stuggle , I am on some meds that make me gain weight and got told I have to work twice as hard at it .....
so I expect that would be the same for you ?
I too used to go into classs and feel like a fraud cos my weight went up , up ,up and yet my 2 friends were having a pizza after weigh in and still loosing weight !!!
It does make you feel bitter , but as my husband says ,
"what is the alternative" ? give up and get huge ? get more health problems ?
No , we know we have to fight this , and the good news is we can fight this together so pleased dont give up , I need you here with me, because I think you know exactly how I feel and I know how you are feeling.
Hugs to everyone .Kindness costs nothing0 -
Good Morning Everyone, just a flying visit as am about to take Charlie out and then DD2 to the station and then hopefully Aldi to buy a new laptop. Finally decided to get one, but not sure if they will have any left once I get there.
Breakfast - bacon and eggs and hash browns (forgot to put the hashbrowns back in the freezer yesterday so they had to be cooked:o, I don't normally have the same breakfast twice in a row)
Lunch/Dinner - Roast chicken, mashed potatoes, brocolli and sweetheart cabbage with carrots.
Supper - Left over chicken in a wm roll with salad and a yogurt.
Thats all folks
MarionWhen life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0 -
Mina , Its so strange you mention trytophan and how its in chocolate , bananas , cheese .
My medical condition is a vascular condition , basically in my brain and I get swelling of the vessels , a bit like migraine but a bit more severe , as in it gives me neourological symptoms , finding walking difficult ,loosing my balance and numbness.
So I am on these pills and I also have to avoid certain foods that cause the vessels to swell . These foods are all the trytophan foods.
ok, I am going to have a EE day , so this morning I had....
quorn sausages ( think they are free still ?)
Beans .
chopped apple
cup of tea.Kindness costs nothing0
