anyone got any hints or tips to help me this week?
Take a bag of fruit and yogurt with you plus lots of water or low cal drinks. You could also try cottage cheese and veg sticks. It will encourage your kids to eat healthily if they see you doing it,and you will be keeping your metabolism well stoked if you munch light nutritious foods though out the day:D :A :rotfl::T:jHalf a stone off, only another 2 to go!:j:T:D;)Cats are truly evil, like women....;):D:p

Well thats me told! lol
Sorry, not lecturing but it always surprises me when people are surprised that (decent) meat is (relatively) expensive! As I said in an earlier post you can fry off non lean mince on its own then drain it really thoroughly, using a pan to squeeze all the fat out through a sieve. This will also demonstrate how much water and crap is in there! You may be paying less per 100g of meat but you are also getting less meat per 100g,IYSWIM?!?!:p:T:jHalf a stone off, only another 2 to go!:j:T:D;)Cats are truly evil, like women....;):D:p

Well they do say that if you had to rear it,kill and butcher it would you still want to eat it?!TBH,I'm rather insensitive (no,REALLY!!!!),don't have emotional responses to animals (cats are users, dogs are just plain dopey!),and love raw meat!So I don't think it would bother me too much:D My sister makes me laugh - she eats chicken cos she thinks they're ugly, but not beef cos she thinks they're cute!Bonkers (even more than Marion;)),if you ask me:rotfl:

Is there anyone following the diet, truly sticking to it and NOT losing weight?
I've come to a plateau and am really fed up with going to class and everyone assuming I must be not sticking with it.
Every week there are always a few people that have a laugh and giggle about how much they've eaten / drunk, yet they seem to lose. I am a real diet bore now and just can't shift any weight.
Xmas week I put on 7lb, must have been a class record!
I only ate 2 'ordinary' meals with all the trimmings (my 1st syn uncounted since last Feb), 2 glasses of wine and 6 chocs from the tin.
Some in our class eat that each week and more and lose!!!!
The following week I really got stuck in and lost 6 1/2lb. Last week I ate exactly the same as previous week and put on 1/2 lb.
This week I have eaten and followed the plan, but tonight have broken into my syns for a weightwatchers ice at 8 syns and a liquorice at 3 syns.
Now I feel like a failure after such a stickler of a week.
I know if I have syns I'll put on but was feeling low about Mondays weigh in.
Im this close ////// to not going back on Monday.
I have been going for 1 yr and have only lost 2 st.
I don't know what to do next, my group leader says from my diary sheet (keep one every week and only do red because of my thyroid) that I am eating ok and I am certainly not cheating myself, I want to lose.
I have an underactive thyroid that I take medication for and am waiting to see a specialist at the hospital, but goodness knows when that will be, 6 to 8 weeks!
In the meantime what can I do to stay motivated. For the first time in a year I want to pack it in ................

Hi Lillie,
From reading your post, it sounds like you could do with some support, and maybe even a hug, so I'll start with a slimming world support thread dodgy hug :grouphug:
Over the last few weeks, I have had some lovely pm conversations with about 3 ladies on this thread who are in a similar position - you are certainly not alone - for whatever reason, we have all started to plateau, and despite enjoying the plan and following it properly, we just aren't losing the weight we feel we deserve to be losing .. (especially when we all experience the class members who eat everything, don't follow the plan, and lose 3lb  )
For myself, I 'play' with the same half pound week in, week out - and I know I am not alone... as you will see from my sig, I started last April and have lost 1st 8 to today - a good loss, but not exactly huge (about similar to yours really). I weigh in tuesdays.
You sound like you know the plan, so apologies for the following, but ...
do you use between 5 and 15 syns a day?
do you use both your B choices and 1 or 2 a choices daily?
do you stick to the same b choices, or do you vary them?
are you aware that you shouldn't write your food diary every week - a week 'off' might relax you a bit.
do you drink a minimum of 1.5L of water a day, spread through the day?
have you tried eating smaller meals more frequently (eg 6 meals a day)?
have you tried sucess express?
have you tried fast forward?
take care, welcome to the thread, I hope you find some support here as it would be a shame to stop now - you have clearly done very very well to keep your motivation for the year :A0 -

LL, I do feel sorry for you! You must be very strong minded to continue going to class when you have had such a hard time getting to goal. I think your underactive thyroid is playing a big part in your slow weight loss and your current plateau. I know 6 to 8 weeks seems like forever before you get to see your specialist but think about what would happen in that time frame if you just gave up and didn't stick to plan?
I can also understand your frustrations at class when people are all bragging about all the c**p they ate all week then jump on the scales and have a 3 lb loss! There are times when homicide is justifiable!:rotfl:, however I doubt that everybody assumes that you are not sticking to it, I'll bet most of them are too involved in their own weight loss or lack of it to worry about what you are doing;).
Not sure what I can say to motivate you, but if you hadn't been going to class all this time you would still be miserable BUT you would be 2 stone heavier!!:A
Love

Thank you for that quick support and hug.
I'm really feeling low tonight and feel like I'm never going to shift any more weight.
In answer to your questions I do normally have up to 10 syns about 3 times a week, any more and I put weight on.
I stick to red days because its been proven that this is the best diet for thyroid patients. If I do 1 day a week green I put on.
I have both A & B x 2 each per day and they vary.
I drink well throughout the day & eat smaller free food meals.
I am afraid not to write down everything that passes my lips in case I do something wrong.
I haven't tried Sucess express because it includes carbs, a no-no for my condition.
I've never heard of 'Fast forward', what is it??
Our group leader says that she'll write me a personal plan next week if I haven't lost (my scales say I haven't) but I can't see that it will work any better than the plans I do, but its worth a go.
