my head is starting to hurt , lol , trying to take all this info in ....
I have just picked up a bag of Value Basmati Rice from Tesco , and have looked in my book and its free. I will try to make the pancake with this .
mina , I think you are right , I was living on the stuff everyday and my friend is making the cous cous cake alot and told me its nearly no syns.
This does feel like a mine field , and it doesnt help that I cant get on the SW web site to check things.
Where would I be without you all ?Kindness costs nothing0 -

Hope you have a lovely day

I usually have porridge and have always assumed it's a HEb - it must be.... I like to mash a banana into it (sweet tooth!
)
how much porridge oats can i have...i was allowed 42grammes of crunchy bran from wetabix...thats why i chose it..i need a big bowl of cereal....cant do a diet/eating plan that doesnt let me have a good ol bowl of cereal...probably why WW was sucha flop for me.... i used sooooooo many points on cereal and had very little for the rest of the day:p0 -

Please can I have some "still lose weight this week" vibes?!
Just seen the menu for tonight - its ALL stacked high in syns. www.panamahattys.com - any ideas on least damaging things to eat would be very welcome (but I draw the line at the fruit salad for starter, yeuch! :rotfl: ) everyone is having 2 courses, so I am thinking starter and main as the deserts are all highly fatty and sugary!
Am going to stick to plan all day but allow a blow out tonight, its the only thing I can think to do. Rest of week's syns stand at 30+8+15 so far so I'm rapidly losing confidence in my ability to lose weight by tuesday! I have been to the gym an extra 2 times so far this week though, and guess I should go this afternoon too! :rotfl:0 -
Does any one know , if I boil some basmati rice (free) and mash it down a bit , will that turn into syns ?
I have just made the pancake with the boiled basmati rice ,
I used one egg "beatend" and sweetner then added the boiled rice so the mixture looked firm-ish, then fried in pan , flattening as it cooked , making sure I made small little pancakes ( cos they would break apart if bigger).
They turned out nice , my husband and daughter liked it ,
I topped mine with berries. My daughter said its like a pancake and rice pudding ,lol.Kindness costs nothing0 -

not sure...as ur not allowed fruit juice for free are you? beacuse ur body doesnt break it down hence your body doesnt burn energy burning it...so its a syn right? hence isnt this the same that ur mashing it....but then...i guess would u be allowed mash potato?
i dont actually know enough to answer ur question...so i'll get my coat now! haha:rotfl:0 -
Hi naturally - is it panama-hattys?? (your link didn't work hun...) if so, it looks wonderful:D
I would choose -
salmaccio for starter (salmon around melon) or thai fish cakes (they are just spicy minced fish, no breadcrumbs etc)
for main I would choose fajita - as it is meat/onions/peppers and you control how much sour cream/cheese etc, the wraps would count at about 4 each
as they will be small
OR a steak from the grill served with a jacket potato
and then I would have pud, but I would choose the 'lock garden glory' from the starter menu - all that wonderful fruit salad and a sorbet too
I assume you have reserved me a seat as your advisor!? sounds fab0 -

I would be tempted with theTHAI FISH CAKES
A Thai style fish cake made with crab, prawns, smoked salmon, spring onion and exotically seasoned with garlic and lemon grass, served with a delicious pineapple & mango salsa
then
MARAVITA SHANK
A whole joint of succulent lamb, slowly braised to tender perfection in a Chilean red wine sauce of roasted cumin, apricots, raisins, and finished with toasted almonds. Served with crushed sweet potato dauphinoise and seasonal vegetablesThat main will have high syns (angie has picked better) but I am a totally sucker for lamb
look to avoid stuff which is mentioned as fried and with a sticky type sauce and anything served with something such as a tortilla or other bread like thing.
Yes you will have some syns, but set a flexible limit for yourself so you wont worry about it too much as afterall its a lovely night out and I am very jealousTry having a day packed with speed foods until you go to weigh and you should be fine, as magicbeans said, you are still aware of the diet which is the best frame of mind to go out with anyway!
