Wow 5.5lbs in 2 weeks is still a great loss though, don't be too disheartened!
I'm soooo hungry and I can't decide if I want a nice oven baked spud or pasta. Having canneloni for tea so I suppose spud it shall be. Can't have it for another half an hour though, I'm 'at work' and so have to stay in for people to have a nosy round my flat.0 -

Hello, I’m new to this thread and have been “dieting” on and off for almost 25 years though for the last few years I gave it up as a lost cause! I know all about dieting but can’t keep to them.
Anyway, although I’ve done SW before I heard about the EE plan and have lost 5lb in my first week. Can you stay on this EE plan indefinitely or is it just for new recruits to get started?
Also, I’ve never eaten dairy so have to omit the HEa which I’m a bit concerned about, think I got my calcium from choc bars!
You can stay on the EE plan as long as you like, but as you get closer to your target, you may find it beneficial to load half your plate with superfree foods (salad veg, carrots, cauli, brocolli etc).
If you're not having any dairy products I would really recommend that you have a calcium tablet every day in order to prolong the density of your bones (brittle bone disease is a terrible thing to end up with).I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
budget_barbie - re the sausages - thats for SW to worry about not us. Who says Morrisons batches don't differ and they're still free?
Don't worry!

You order direct but I believe there is a minimum order (8 packs or £8???)
"Remember that we have a minimum order of 8 items and delivery is FREE on all orders over £59 (Orders attract a delivery charge of £6.99.) " :eek:0 -

I'm a man and, at 12.5st, am a stone overweight for my height. This has a negative input into various medical problems afflicting me. I need to get rid of that stone but the doc says that virtually all 'crash' regimes fail because the body simply responds by sending increased hunger messages to the brain.
Apparently it has to be done slowly so as to trick the system.
Can anyone here with successful experience suggest a strategy, please? Any offerings would be gratefully received. Please feel free to PM me if the thread goes in other directions.
I was going to pm you, but decided that this is an important enough point for everyone to chip in on.
First of all I should explain that I'm a Consultant for SW and therefore may be biased, lol. However, I would take issue with your Doctor and say that a crash diet is one where you miss meals in order to get your calorie intake down to ridiculous levels (less than 1000 cals a day).
Slimming World NEVER, EVER endorse this sort of regime and in fact encourage members to discard the word 'diet' in favour of 'healthy eating plan'.
Plans promoted by SW are put together by a Nutritionist, Doctor Jacqui Levin, who has been working in the field for many years. The plans themselves, encourage us to eat loads of foods listed as free (these include almost everything you should eat regularly, meat, fish, veg, rice, pasta, fruit, pulses and grains).
Incidentally, SW work in partnership with many local health authorities up and down the Country and lots of overweight people have had their first weeks at SW paid for by their GPs surgery!!
Because you're eating so much healthy food, you don't have the room to crave the rubbish you may eat too much of (cakes, biscuits, pastry etc). The only place you may have to use will-power is in the cutting down of your alcohol consumption
Personally, I think it would be a good idea if you join a group then take the Food Optimising Book (known in my group as our 'bible') along to show your Doc. He may well realise that he's thinking of the old-fashioned methods of dieting where deprivation was the byword for success.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Try and get your group to make up an order between them - it cuts the cost a little!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
