retired lady - I know exactly where you are coming from - I've also done the '15 minute' segments in the past....:o I have 11 stone to lose
angie - I lost 5 stone about 3-4 years ago and every half stone got a candle, or a CD or something like that. I think it's just the height of the mountain and all the 'in the head' stuff that goes with it all really.
I feel a bit better now I have a couple of extra bits in the house, so I'm going to amend my plan, i'll post it in the morning when I've decided for sure.
I guess I'm not looking forward to my OH's comments of 'it should be dropping off you', when after the initial loss of 10 pounds or so over a couple of weeks it slows right down to virtually nothing. He thinks that kind of comment is 'encouraging' but he at the end of the day , I'm afraid he isn't very encouraging at all and can be rather horrible about how I look."Stay Wonky":D

Our local freebie was just delivered. There's an advert saying we have 2 new consultants starting in our town this week. I am going to give the Friday morning lady a whirl. I have about 7 stone to loose  so need to get going again. You all talk of a new plan. I am looking forward to seeing what it is all about. Is it good?I don't get to come on here too often.

I'm on a mission now, I wont have time tonight to check if the class is on as some friends are now on their way over to see us. I'll go next week but I will be starting the plan tomorrow.
All the naughty foods are being used up, I've used the sugar and butter left over to make shortbread for my bloke and my friends and we're having the rest of the peppercorn sauce in the fridge with a steak tonight. Then as the chimes of Midnight hit we'll be polishing off all the wine.
Tomorrow I plan to eat the following and nothing is going to change my mind!
Breakfast - 2 x weetabix with banana and low fat yoghurt
Lunch - jacket potato with beans and cheese and salad
Dinner - quorn sausages with veg, more salad and mash spuds
Snacks - a tub of fresh melon pieces, more bananas and carrot sticks
I cant wait! bring it on!They have the internet on computers now?! - Homer Simpson

I have had a weight gain of almost half a stone in 2 weeks. Today is the first day ive (tried) to follow the plan since before xmas but I will shortly have gone over my syns for today (if I havent already) as Ive had 3 syns of sweet chilli sauce, a treat size crunchie (4 syns) a large 250 ml glass of wine (at least 8 syns), more sweet chilli sauce (3 syns), 2 meringues - 5 syns, an unmeasured malibu and coke (call it 3.5 syns) plus all the alcohol im going to consume later......
so after weigh in yesterday, I was going to try and get back on plan but I have two more social events (Friday - home made pastys) and Saturday - family buffet.
Do I
(1) stick to plan 100% eitherside of these days and just eat my pasty on friday and eat what I want at the buffet or do I
(2) not have a pasty and eat SW friendly food before I go and munch just the salad items at the buffet?
what would you do?0 -

I would vote for option 1 - reason being it is holiday time and if you go for option 2 you will feel all deprived and sorry for yourself since you have already gained so will fall into the "oh f*** it" trap and will eat everything that is not nailed down:D If you go for option 1 you will at least have a couple of good days which have a damage limitation effect!
Either way Happy New Year and enjoy yourself!

I would do a bit of both.
100% on all days except the two you mention.
On pasty day, if they are meat, have a red day, if vegi have a green day, and food optimise all day, that one meal excepted. Enjoy said pasty (that bit is important!) and feel no guilt - it was planned for.
On buffet day I would food optimise red (would be my choice) eat freely the ham, meats, chicken drumsticks, salady bits, have a small amount of cheese (HA) (esp if on a stick with pineapple!) avoid everything with pastry - and use flexible syns if you fancy (an allowance of 30 would give you a desert and a glass of wine - or two!)
thats what I'd do0 -
I would eat 100% on plan around those 2 days and enjoy Friday and Saturday. You can get back on the wagon full time once New Year is over, but then I'm one of the irresponsible ones. If you can go for your second option and not feel resentful or deprived then that is probably the option for you. I'm just in Xmas mode and it's difficult to get out of that way of thinking!I saw two shooting stars last night
I wished on them, but they were only satellites
It's wrong to wish on space hardware
I wish, I wish, I wish you'd care0 -
thanks for all your replies. Its helpful having your input.:D sometimes you can ponder stuff for ages and still not be able to make up your mind !!
Im undecided about the pasty but will eat what I want at the buffet within reason. I will stick to the plan eitherside and am going to try lots more extra easy days.
tomorrow im planning on having the slimming world beef madras curry with rice! yay!
happy new year everyone :dance:0 -
