Hi my first week so far is going really well doing the EE plan. Need some advice as taking DD to cardiff for university interview on weds would like to Bella Italia with tesco vouchers have looked at menu and am thinking of
    Linguine Rustica

Chicken and marinated rustic tomatoes sauteed with linguine pasta and fresh basil pesto

Any ideas of syn values anyone other option is Spaghetti Napoli but do like meat

Hi Kathy, I am afraid this has stumped me totally, they dont have any nutritional value on their website so we cant even sneak a calculator guess at it :( I should think you will be ok as long as you go easy on your other syns for the day or even 2 days :)

I followed Slimming World when I was pregnant with DS in 2000. I think in total I gained about 2st 5lbs, what shocked the hell out of me was when I weighed the first week after having DS (had to go to class as 1. my mum was the consultant back then and 2. all the girls wanted to see DS! ) I actually lost 3st 6lbs - I think clearly at 9lb 12oz born he had commanded his own swimming pool in there as well

Wow that's a massive loss...ds1 weighed in at 9lb 6oz I lost 2.5st after having him...which left me 1.5 st heavier...then after ds2 (8lb 4oz) I lost about 2st which again added another 1.5st to try to shift. Then over the years I put on another couple of stone. It was only before falling pregnant this time round I actually managed to get motivated to lose some of that weight.....lost 2st then found out I was pg. I am planning on joining group straight after having this one, if I go straight back to pre-preg weight this time, then I will have 3-4st to lose.....but I want to try and do it before baby 4:rotfl:

well had a terrible night in last night with water pouring through the ceiling!
oh is away for the weekend so had to cope alone. Had to drill some holes in ceiling to release the big amount of water welled up!
Plumber came this morning (bless him!) and sorted it but still have no hot water. Did not succumb to food as no time.....so am still on track:j .

Day 14 in sw house - EE
    B- Muller /alpen light(HEB)
    L- Tuna ,jacket, salad
D-chicken , actifry chips and salad.
Snacks: muller, alpen light , fruit
    tea (milk from a HEA)
  • Hi, new to all of this- just restarted SW again via the website- paid up so I have to be committed for 3 months now:o

Does anyone have any ideas re syns for wagamama meals?

I going out today. I plan to go for a veggie noodle ot rice dish and add say 10 syns for the oil and other bits that no doubt creep into the cooking- does this sound reasonable? If I go for one with prawns in I'll use a B choice for those (you only get about 6 prawns anyway!).

    THanks!

Morning all, I love Sunday mornings, I still havent got dressed yet!

I'm having a red day today...

    Breakfast -
Hifi bar, scrambled eggs, bacon and syn free sausage

I also snacked on a slice of cheese as one of my HEa, the other goes as milk in my tea, gotta have those cuppas!

    Lunch -
    Tuna salad

    Dinner -
    Spicy beef wraps

I think I'm going to be having a lot of syns today as the beef mince is standard and not extra lean. (!!!!!!) plus we're having a tortilla wrap each. Oh well I'm going for a walk later and also plan to dig out an old exercise DVD now our machine is back from being repaired.

    Morning all,

Im kicking myself after succumbing last night to xmas cake thats still in the cupboard - I am sooo gutted. I got weighed yest am and scales say I have gained 1lb which I can't understand since I have been well within syns all week. Due for WI tomorro morning so am having a red day today to try and cut down the amount of potatoes I have ben eating.

Im sat on my bed surrounded by my study books and a massive plate full of fruit and muller's to eat so I dont need to venture downstairs and be tempted by whats on offer down there!!! the things we do eh???

    So meal plan for today

B - 28g Bran flakes (HEB) Milk (from HEA)
    L - Crab sticks/salad
    D - Chicken/Salad/small JP (HEB)

    snacks - fruit/yog

I have stuck to 28g of Bran flakes as my HEB but thought I could have more if I didnt have the ryvita thats listed in the book - any ideas for next time? I think I need to vary my HEB's so need to stock up for next week.

JemmaB/Skinny - well done for the losses and keep up the good work - Jemma how about buying frozen veg/meat it quite often works out cheaper? Or buy fresh and freeze what you dont need??? :j

Jammy - sorry to hear about the water leak - Nightmare city - we had a ceiling fall in when the kids decided to let the bath overflow and the kitchen ceiling gave way - hope you get it sorted soon x :grouphug:

Nic - hope you enjoyed the sat night feast - I must say it sounds sooooo nice - just jump back on the wagon today and dont be too disappointed if you havent lost, at least you can explain it and avoid doing the same thing again

Right am off for a while to study - my first exam is on Tues and Im sure I cant remember a thing.... think having kids shrinks your brain :rotfl:

Oh dear things have gone a bit wrong....

I tried the olive oil/water thing this morning instead of frylight and it was rubbish! I might as well just put water in the frying pan for all the good it did. I ended up frying the mushrooms with bacon with the fat still on so they wouldnt stick (that means syns)

I'll have to eat fruit all afternoon and have no syns until Wednesday as I really want to lose again this week.

I have found a recipe for 'skinny carbonara' which sounds really nice, although I don't even know if I like normal carbonara, never tried it!
    Serves FOUR
    Ingredients:
    1. spaghetti (or any pasta)
    2. 2 egg yolks
    3. parmessan cheese (around 4 level tablespoons) (HEa)
    4. tobasco sauce (or any other brand of pepper sauce)
    5. chives
    6. parsley
    7. salt & pepper
    8. 1/2 pack bacon (EE OR HEb)
    9. 1 courgette (chopped into small cubes) (OR PEAS)

    1. cook the pasta according to the packet instructions in boiling salted water.
    2. finely chop the bacon and fry (you wont need oil) until cooked
    3. When the bacon is cooked, add the courgette/peas and cook until soft ). When cooked remove from the heat & set aside.
    4. beat the egg yolks in a bowl and add the parmessan cheese, 2 teaspoons of chives, 2 teaspoons of parsley, 5 splashes of tobasco sauce, and some pepper
    4. drain the pasta reserving a little water in the pan (no more than 6 tablespoons)
    5. add the egg and cheese mixture and stir in until the cheese has melted. Do Not put the pan back on the heat or you will end up with scrambled eggs!
    6. Stir in the bacon/peas mix
    7. serve with a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese on top.

I quite like the sound of this, will mean buying more herbs though, I've been getting by with chilli powder, marjoram and mixed spice! I will put some spinach in at the end as well I think :j

that would equal 5 servings with the amount of parmesan in it (HEA of parmesan is 28g or 1 tbsp)

I must eat consciously............got 2/3 of the way through the pasta n sauce sitting at the PC before even coming up for air..........
